Far too soon, FOX will be airing the series finale of Raising Hope on April 4 — but it’s definitely going out with a bang! Not only does Jeffrey Tambor reprise his role as Virginia Chance’s (Martha Plimpton‘s) estranged father, Arnold, but wedding bells will ring, and Kenny Loggins makes an appearance! Click through to watch the sneak peek and to hear what the cast have to say about their final episode.
‘Raising Hope’ Series Finale Sneak Peek:
What better way is there to cap off a series than to combine a comedy legend and a wedding? (There isn’t.)
It’s unclear who will be getting married since Jimmy (Lucas Neff) and Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) are already married, as are Virginia and Burt (Garret Dillahunt), but hey, we’re not ones to complain. Maybe Maw Maw (Cloris Leachman) and Barney (Gregg Binkley) begin a torrid, beautiful romance! (We’re kinda joking, but we also really want to see that. Fingers all the way crossed.)
As Martha puts it in the sneak preview, things come full circle for the Chance family when Kenny Loggins makes an appearance at the wedding to sing “Danny’s Song” — the very song that Virginia sang to Hope on the first night that a terrified Jimmy brought her home to live with them.
Lucas Neff: ‘Raising Hope’ Series Finale Is Going To Be ‘Super, Super Awesome Fun’
According to Lucas, the Raising Hope series finale is sure to be “super fun. Super, super awesome fun. Super good, good, fun, awesome, fun. Friday!” Who can argue in the face of such eloquence?
Raising Hope is ending in only its fourth season despite its significant critical success. In its first season, Martha was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Cloris was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at the 63rd annual Primetime Emmys. Not too shabby.
Tragically, shows get canceled before their time often enough that we can only sigh deeply, eat ice cream, and try and mend our broken hearts. (By the way — we still haven’t forgiven ABC for canceling Pushing Daisies, Better Off Ted, and Happy Endings. Just saying.)
