Zoe Saldana ditched her sexy, long hair for a super short look for NBC’s upcoming remake of the iconic film ‘Rosemary’s Baby.’ No worries, it’s only a wig! Zoe’s wig imitated Mia Farrow’s original look, which helped make the horror classic a blockbuster. Click below to watch the new TV teaser!
Zoe Saldana, 35, is starring in Rosemary’s Baby, an upcoming four-hour, two-part miniseries on NBC. Mia Farrow left big shoes to fill, but from the looks of it, Zoe owns the role! We know she’s at least got the look down — we’re loving the pixie cut on her!
‘Rosemary’s Baby’ & Zoe Saldana — Star Pays Hair Homage To Mia Farrow
In 1968, when Rosemary’s Baby hit the big screen, Mia’s haircut was a huge headline. Years later she confessed that the Vidal Sassoon haircut was all a publicity stunt by Paramount Pictures.
She’d actually had the short haircut prior, but celebrity stylist, Vidal Sassoon, trimmed her inch-long hair to promote the movie:
“‘I had literally cut it myself earlier that year — with a pair of fingernail scissors — while working on the Peyton Place TV series at Fox Studios,” the actress told the New York Times.
Publicity pranks have been around for years! Either way, the cut was clearly epic because Zoe is rocking a very similar look for the re-make.
Zoe Saldana Stars In ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Remake
The tale was adapted from Ira Levin‘s 1967 best selling book and is the story of a woman impregnated by the devil. The miniseries is expected to be a hit amongst old and young alike. In the 20-second teaser, Rosemary Woodhouse, played by Zoe, breaks the news of her pregnancy to husband, Guy (Patrick J. Adams). Much like the original, the satanic story is filled with Roesmary’s suspicions of her neighbors and husband conspiring against her unborn baby. Freaky.
If that doesn’t sell you; rather than being filmed in Manhattan, the remake was filmed in an old Parisian apartment with “a darkly storied past.” Even freakier.
