Jazmine Sullivan Returns To Stage After 3-Year Break
“It’s been a while,” Jazmine told the huge crowd in London before performing a ton of her hit songs. Additionally, she did a cover of Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky,” and previewed a new song, “Masterpiece.”
During the performance, she confirmed she was working on her third album to be titled, Mona Lisa, according to Yahoo! UK. She also thanked “prayer and inner strength.” The lyrics of “Masterpiece” included, “Every part of me is beautiful, I’m a work of art.”
The Philly native released her first album, Fearless, in 2008 and earned a Grammy nom for her hit “Need U Bad.” In 2010, she released her second album, Love Me Back. Then a year later, Jazmine announced she was taking a break.
This is the first we’ve seen of Jazmine since January 2011 when she said she needed time to herself. At the time, she tweeted:
I’m making an official announcement that I am taking a break from music. I’m trying to figure out who I am … w/out a mike, paper or pen. I promised myself that when it wasn’t fun anymore I wouldn’t do it. and here I am. I’m not saying I wont ever sing again in my life becuz I dont believe that. but in this moment… rt now… I got some things to figure out.
