If you were in labor, would you rush straight to the hospital or would you stop for a pedicure first? Anna Rubenstein thought she had time for one last pamper session before giving birth to her son, but before she knew it she was giving birth in the salon bathroom. Oh no!

Anna Rubenstein was already in labor when she stopped for a pedicure at a local nail salon, where she ended up giving birth to her second child.

Woman Gives Birth In Nail Salon

Anna, a Glen Rock, New Jersey native, thought she had plenty of time to get in a manicure, pedicure, and foot massage before she would give birth to her second baby. After all, Anna remembered that she was in labor for 44 hours with her first child.

According to NorthJersey.com, the woman went into the bathroom shortly after her foot massage. When salon employees asked if they should call an ambulance for help, Anna protested and claimed she was fine.

Thankfully, another customer in the salon at the time was a nurse, and she had Anna lay down on the tiled floor of the bathroom. Someone finally called both Anna’s husband and 911, but Anna’s husband arrived first — and just in time to witness the birth of his son.

Salon Manager Said This Isn’t The First Time

Nancy Wang, the owner of the salon, also arrived shortly before Anna gave birth. She told NorthJersey.com that this was not the first time she had witnessed a woman in labor in her salon.

“I’ve been in business for over 20 years,” Nancy said during an interview. “You think this is the first time a woman’s water broke in one of my salons?”

Who knew getting a manicure and a pedicure was such a popular place for women in labor?

Thankfully, both Anna and her baby boy are happy and healthy after the incident in the nail salon.

STUPID!
She should have had her nails and toes done days ago.
I’m sure she had signs that labor would soon start.
Forget that when my labor started, I get to the hospital because I don’t want to miss the window to receive painkillers!
Glad everyone is fine and mom and baby are healthy.

that’s why they tell women who are close to being in labor not to get a message because it can speed up their labor though each successive labor is about 25% shorter than the previous my mom was in labor 18 1/2hrs with me and about 14 with my younger brother and the average birth weight and length between us was 7lbs 10oz and 21in and that was nearly 30 years ago and with one of us being 12 days overdue
