Piers Morgan sat behind the desk for ‘Piers Morgan Live’ one last time on March 28, to say goodbye and make an emotional plea for better gun control here in the United States. Click to watch and see just how Piers said his goodbyes.

Piers Morgan, 49, had been at the helm of the live CNN show since taking it over from Larry King over three years ago. Piers said his goodbyes on the final episode, and managed to add in a long monologue about better gun control laws here in the United States before he put down the mic for good. He cited several huge cases here in the states in which massive casualties occurred at the hands of gun wheedling killers — cases he says could have been avoided.

Piers Morgan Says Goodbye To CNN Show With Plea For Better US Gun Control Laws

After spending most of his final show on missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370, the always controversial British journalist took a few minutes to talk about the overwhelming amount of gun violence here in the states.

Piers had this to say about gun control, “I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theater, and then, just a few months later, 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, the absurd gun laws in this country would change. But nothing has happened.”

“The gun lobby in America, led by the NRA, has bullied this nation’s politicians into cowardly, supine silence. Even when 20 young children are blown away in their classrooms. This is a shameful situation that has made me very angry. So angry, in fact, that some people have criticized me for being too loud, opinionated, even rude when I have debated the issue of guns. But I make no apologies for that,” Piers added.

His three years in the old Larry King Live time slot were marked by low ratings and his involvement in the British phone hacking scandal. Those two things didn’t help his case any when producers ultimately decided to axe the show.

The 9 p.m. time slot is scheduled to be filled by various CNN anchors such as Jake Tapper and Don Lemon until a replacement is named.

Piers, I saw an old show of you grilling Joel Osteen because he stated that the Bible says
homosexuality is a sin. You had a problem with it because you stated that Elton John is your
friend, and he would be terribly offended. That in no way changes the fact that the word says
homosexuality is a sin. It was in Sodom and G. as it was in little S. and G. (called San Francisco),
when aids decimated thousands of gay men. When will we come to the understanding that the
Bible is not some careless work of fiction and can have real consequences when we deny its truth?
All you people who thumb their nose at it and it’s author (GOD), might want to think twice. No one
has written a more concise or benificial handbook for living life on this earth and never will, ever!
We will all stand before Him whether we believe or dispute Him or His book. Sin is sin, and The
Creator hates all sin, both yours and mine. Fact is His love for us is greater than our sin. It just
might be time to turn to Him, instead of turning our back on Him. Hope it’s not to late. Love Dan

P.S. I have no affiliation with any religious organizations of any type and believe all of them to be
the deceiving, greedy, false teachers of the world. I do believe in God, His Son and His word.

I liked Piers but I think he was way to opinionated and aggresive… I think the Gun control issue was the last straw and led to his end!

That’s a bit judgmental. Americans like to be prepared to protect and defend. I am an American, and that is why I own firearms.

People like Piers are poison to American society. With the power grap going on in Washington DC citizens need to be armed. People have the right to self defense and self protection . Go AWAY if you don’t love America or its people.

What do you think your little pop guns will do against the american military? If they really want to take you out, there is nothing you can do, you can own every gun you see in any store in america, and you will still be just as dead. Your argument is simply old and silly.

And one need not worship guns to love this country or it’s people. I’d say Mr. Morgan loved this country more than you. He at least did not tell gun nuts to leave, just change their ways.

Very ignorant response here. Anyone who believes gun control saves lives and the guns Americans can buy today do nothing against an oppressive military is simply naïve, and ignorant of the history of our Great Nation.

I am the military, the reason we own gun is to defend. We judge the firearms world unfairly. More people are killed by hammers than guns. You never hear us banning hammers! Europe’s crime is through the roof with more home invasions than ever. Take some time to look at stats and history. You will find the founding fathers were quite intelligent. Unlike your foolish rant.

Its not hard to see the bloody hand of the gun lobby in this dismissal. Morgan was a fresh and provocative face among the mediocre, media whores we have to accept in journalism today. Its what we have-or the outright political propaganda machine of fox news. Oh well, there’s always PBS.

Sure, blame the gun lobby. Consider: given how poor his viewership numbers were, either (1) most potential viewers are part of the gun lobby, in which case Piers is in the minority; or (2) he just didn’t resonate with viewers. Which is it?

Yeah did you hear Pierce was supposed to trot out a gun shooting victim when Ben accused him of being a bully dancing on the graves of gun victims? If true, yet an example of Pierce’s duplicity and his getting his comeuppance.

I really liked Piers Morgan….I felt he is an educated man, who spoke his mind….He tried to gather facts as need be, and then help us to get to the bottom of things…I will miss him…I feel the gun control issue ultimately led to his demise on CNN(if not other issues), but he is entitled to his opinion….Will miss his show…
