Sadly, former ‘Dynasty’ star Kate O’Mara died in a Sussex, England nursing home on March 30, following a short illness according to her agent.
Kate O’Mara was best known as the manipulative Cassandra ‘Caress’ Morrell, sister of Alexis Colby, played by Joan Collins, on the 1980’s TV show “Dynasty.”

Kate also appeared as another schemer in Howards’ Way — the BBC’s attempt to rival the glamour of american TV shows Dynasty and Dallas, reports The Guardian.
In a statement her agent said, “a shining star has gone out.”
O’Mara’s manipulative character on Dynasty made her show debut in 1986, but only appeared on the TV soap for two seasons.
More recently, Kate acted in a stage play in 2012.
She also made a villainous appearance as the Rani in Dr Who with two doctors, Sylvester McCoy, and Colin Baker, a role she relished and one she said — when the program celebrated its 50th anniversary last year — she would have loved to have returned to.
