Want to see Chris Martin‘s debut before The Voice airs on Monday, March 31? Well then, you’ve come to the right place! Despite his recent split with wife Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris is all business when it comes to mentoring contestants on The Voice!
“When I found out that my advisor was Chris Martin, I was starstruck,” says singer TJ Wilkins in the EXCLUSIVE promo. Even frontrunner and YouTube sensation, Christina Grimmie, knows she’s in good company! “I lost it!” exclaims the 20 year old. “This guy is a songwriting genius!”
And it’s not just the amateurs who are taken aback by Chris. The pros are astonished by his mastery, too! “I’m really excited to get the chance to work with Chris Martin,” says coach Blake Shelton. “The guy’s brilliant and so creative. The only thing I don’t like is the other three coaches get to work with him also.”
The Second Round Of Battles Bring Out The Best Singers
Are the judges still pushing each other’s buttons (get it?), even in the second round of the battles? Of course they are! This never before seen footage goes on to show just how competitive these battle rounds can get. The video ends with Adam, Usher and Shakira all vying to steal one of Blake‘s former team members — we just love that steal! — after an incredible performance between Jake Worthington and Tess Boyer.
“The artists had to be good to get to the first battle round, but this round, they have to be great,” says Usher.
Blake chimes in: “If this is any indication of what we’re in for with these second rounds of battles, my liver’s not gonna make it.” Sounds like we should get ready for some more infamously hilarious tweets from Blake! (Hey, as long as it’s not another announcement on goop, right?)
