Less than three weeks before announcing their split, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin took the stage together and sang a duet at a fundraiser benefit for their kids’ school. According to a new report, it was Gwyneth’s idea and she orchestrated the whole performance. Was this part of their elaborate relationship cover up?
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin put their strained relationship aside to sing at a fundraiser for their childrens school just weeks before splitting publicly.
Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin Sang Together Before Splitting
Well, this must have been awkward.
The couple, who have been married for over ten years, performed their own rendition of “Cruisin’,” the hit song that is now infamous from Gwyneth’s 2000 film, Duets. The song is extremely romantic, and if these two were already split as many reports have suggested, this must have been uncomfortable.
However, they were raising money for the John Thomas Dye School, where both of their children, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7, attend. At least these two can put on a brave face and put their children first,
Gwyneth Planned The Duet Herself
According to a source, the idea for the romantic duet came from Gwyneth herself.
“She called the event chair to say she’d like to sing with Chris,” a source told the magazine.
As you might already know, Gwyneth and Chris pre-planned a trip to the Bahamas with their children before letting their announcement go public to avoid the media backlash. The original statement from Gwyneth and Chris states that they were working on their strained relationship for over a year, which makes HollywoodLife.com think that this separation was a long time coming.
Hopefully, these two can continue to put their children first.
