‘Duck Dynasty’ Finale: Willie Robertson Comes Clean — Watch

Thu, March 27, 2014 4:58pm EDT by 36 Comments

‘Duck Dynasty’ wrapped its fifth season last night, March 26, with a very emotional episode, which has viewers excited for Season 6. So what can you expect from the family’s TV future? Click to WATCH Willie & Korie Robertson’s interview!

After a very controversial year (to say the least), Duck Dynastys Willie and Korie Robertson are finally speaking out. On the heels of the Season 5 finale, the couple sat down together to tell fans what they can expect from the show’s next season.

‘Duck Dynasty’ — Have The Robertsons Bounced Back?

Willie and wife Korie Robertson sat down with CNN New Day to promote the Season 5 finale, which aired last night, March 26. The finale was very touching with little Mia Robertson, 11, bravely enduring surgery for a facial cleft. Mia wished for “family time” before her surgical operation, which perfectly fit into the Robertson clan’s family values.

The emotional finale had fans invested into the season finale (although ratings have declined throughout this season), but can the Robertsons bounce back after their infamously controversial year? Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the big family — and Mia’s grandpa! — seriously turned off a large portion of the public with his anti-gay comments to GQ. But will Season 6 be a success?

Willie & Korie Robertson Speak Out On The Day of ‘Duck Dynasty’ Season Finale

Phil will be in Season 6, as the majority of the episodes had been previously filmed before his controversial interview and A&E has lifted his suspension, so what can fans expect from the next season? Willie & Korie sounded off in yesterday’s national interview.

“Phil just said what he thought, what was on his heart,” Willie said on CNN about his father. “He did some paraphrasing there.”

Wife Korie chimed in, also in support of Phil, saying, “Anybody who knows [Phil] … any gay, straight, black, white, anybody who knows Phil knows that he is about love and his message is about God’s love, God’s grace and his forgiveness, ultimately.”

Willie continued, expressing his family’s beliefs in the Bible, and also admitted that they are not perfect. “I believe what the Bible says,” Willie said. “You have to read the Bible and make up your own mind. You have to decide, and God will ultimately decide then. We don’t profess to be God, and we certainly don’t profess to be perfect. Because we have our own sins that we deal with.”

HollywoodLifers, WATCH the video and let us know what you think! Did you tune into last night’s Season 5 finale and will you be watching Season 6 of Duck Dynasty?

I enjoy the people who attack dd. Beat on christianity and morals. Compare dogs humpig to the act of homosexuality. These people cant stand one of the few shows that show a different point of view. Id like to know if someone is forcing them to follow this show and mediasurrounding it. Would like to say get in the closet, but i will not offend someone for being gay. Live and let live. Is morals really going to hurt anything in the world we now live in.

It’s amazing at the amount of self absorbed atheists/Gays out there that still continue to spread false gossip and call it the truth. Phil never said he hated gay people (pull your head out), he said the ACT of homosexuality is what he dislikes. Can’t you IDIOTS even listen to one thing correctly just ONCE!

By the way that you perpetuate this specific lie, tells the world you don’t care about the truth, all you care about is BASHING the Christian Church and anyone that disagrees with your disgusting lifestyle!

The ONLY bigotry out there are those bashing Phil because he has the strength to stand up for what he believes in…………Gays are like terrorists, they attack you from the shadows with lie after lie. Their outright COWARDS!

You people in the press always take what is said and twist into a load of garbage. Phil Robertson answered a question directly and honestly. It was the PRESS that made Phil out to be a hater. Phil Robertson doesn’t hate anyone, not the gays, not anyone. If I were Phil I’d take you (the press) to court for PUBLIC SLANDER and the sue the living crap out of all of your worthless deadbeats!

Even the FREEDOM OF SPEECH has regulations and repercussions for what is said. When you say something you can be held accountable for what you said and Phil has loads of evidence of public slander from the press.

Seems like the ‘state run’ media wants the American people to believe that the majority of Americans are either homosexual or pro-homosexual. Also, seems like they want the American people to believe that only about 250,000 people would sign a petition in support of Phil Robertson. Seems to me the ‘state run’ media is standing in it pretty deep…so deep that you can smell it through the computer screen.

The majority of Americans don’t care to hear another apology from a bigot and racist religious justifying family. A family who’s members advocate marriage to 15 year old girls (that is just pedophilia condoning). A family with a history of spousal abuse. It can stay in the air and many millions were continue to exercise their right to boycott their sponsors including the network, pretty much no one cares if they stay on the air or go.

Do you ever look at your comments? You are knocking them as Bigots but your comments are full of bigotry. I call you a Hypocrite. Ok, go on and justify that act of homosexuality is normal and natural and is not a SIn. Rationalize it like all of your liberal media. But guess what, IT is a SIN, a Deviation from natural design. Now do we need to hate on homosexual people for that? I don’t. I do hate however their acts and by doing that, It will prevent me from committing those acts. Just as Adultery and Bestiality. Yes they are all SIN.

Bigotry? Did you even read his comments? He said that the ACT of Homosexuality is the Sin and we Must hate on the Sin and not the Sinner. What ever this generation try to rationalize that having sex with same sex is ok. NO it is not. Defies the original design of nature. DEVIATION. I have family that is gay and friends that is gay. I love them and i don’t push them away but Whatever they do, I do not agree. But do they need my agreement? No right. Its up to God to Judge.

It’s only a sin because a book says it is. Have you ever stopped and wondering if that book is even correct? The great book you dedicate your life too, is meant to keep you in line. Sad part is, it was written 1000’s of years ago. Back when our ancestors were pretty ignorant to what is common knowledge today. Why did that mountain blow it’s top and kill all of our citizens? Because god was angry. Please, that’s the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You think having sex with a member of the same sex is a sin or wrong? It is only so because your book tells you that. Have you ever seen two male dogs hump each other? I have, it happens all the time in the animal kingdom. It may be gross, but it’s only gross because you perceive it as such.

Next: Christians NEED to realize something. That is YOUR religion. Stop thinking it is dominate or the ONLY one that is to be. This world runs on MANY types of people. Stop being so high up on your horse. You’re no better than anyone else. No matter how much you think you are.

Wonder why the CNN female reporter at the end had a smerk on her face? Kinda like a “whatever” look to me. The Robertson kids seem to be very grounded for kids in the limelight. Maybe because their parents brought them up with dicipline and morals. Love this family

What? No thanks to your doctors or modern day medicine? That right there is the problem with Christians. You never thank the right people. You prefer to thank your imaginary god.
