Ready to party like it’s 1999? The Backstreet Boys are about to go on tour with Avril Lavigne, but according to a new report, they could be joined by the Spice Girls — but would this actually happen? HollywoodLife.com got to the bottom of the report!
Talk about a “Larger than Life” tour! Two of the largest bands of the ’90s are reportedly in talks to hit the big stage for a tour. But will the Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys really hit the road together, or is that just not what you want, what you really really want?
Spice Girls & Backstreet Boys Touring Together?
“We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls,” BSB star Brian Littrell allegedly told British newspaper, The Sun.
Of course I couldn’t contain my excitement until remembered that BSB just announced that they were heading on a North American and Canada tour with Avril Lavigne, so where would the Spice Girls fit in? Well unfortunately, they wouldn’t.
“This is an old, old interview with Brian that has resurfaced for whatever reason,” Mel B. (AKA Scary Spice)’s publicist told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Ugh, I do not want it that way. However, maybe it’s for the best.
Spice Girls May Join, But Posh Won’t
If the tour did happen, Scary Spice would be all for it. In Sept. 2013, she went on Ellen and revealed she wanted them to head back on tour.
“I’d love to,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “I’m gonna make it happen one day. I’m hoping in the next year or two, when everybody’s cleared their diary a little bit.”
However, it would most likely be sans Posh Spice.
“I realized it was finished for good in 2008, when we reformed for our reunion tour,” Victoria Beckham told Vogue Paris in Dec. 2013 (via the Telegraph). “It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere. It wasn’t a lack of respect for the girls or the audience, but the passion just wasn’t there. By contrast, in my new career, the passion grows every year. I still want more.”
Well Posh, we want BSB to Spice up our life! Do you think they should go on tour together, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
