There’s been a ton of ‘Prometheus’ news this week, and now the film is finally set to be released. Save the date — ‘Prometheus 2’ is hitting theaters on March 4, 2016!
If you’re diehard fan of the 2012 film Prometheus, brace yourself because the sequel to the first film is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2016, with production expected to begin in the fall. But what can fans expect to see in the highly anticipated sequel? Read on for all of the details that have been released this week!
‘Prometheus 2’ — A New Point of View
Yesterday, it was reported that the sequel to the 2012 Ridley Scott film will be getting a rewrite from Green Lantern writer Michael Green and Ridley Scott would definitely be back to direct.
Prepare yourself to be spooked because Michael Green has been tapped to take over for Jack Paglen, who wrote the original draft for the screenplay, because the producers want the movie to have even more of a horror movie feel and involve more aliens. Awesome!
‘Prometheus’ — King at the Box Office
It’s exciting that Prometheus is finally getting a release date, but we’re surprised the film didn’t get one sooner! After all, the first film, which was for all intents and purposes a prequel to Ridley Scott‘s 1979 hit Alien, grossed a whopping $400 million worldwide.
Released in 2012, the first movie starred Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw, an archaeologist who went in search of an alien race that served as the “architects” of humanity. The movie also starred Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender as an android named David. And guess what? Michael is coming back!
If you’re a big Fassbender fan, then you definitely want to check out this movie. According to The Wrap, the sequel is expected to feature multiple David androids, which means we’ll be seeing more than one Michael in the film, at one time (no complaints here)!
