The March 24 Season 3B finale of ‘Teen Wolf’ had one of the most genuinely jaw-dropping cliffhangers we’ve seen in a while. A villain we had thought was long dead is back to terrorize Beacon Hills — and now we can’t wait for Season 4! Read on to find out who will be haunting your nightmares during the hiatus!
With Teen Wolf about to enter its 4th season on June 23, the series is in dire need of a shake-up — and “The Divine Move”, the March 24 Season 3B finale, totally delivered. Fans of Teen Wolf don’t typically get a lot of closure on their storylines; our poor heroes move on from one disaster to the next, and don’t really deal with the fallout as much as we might like. However, an old storyline is being brought back into the mix for Season 4 and now we couldn’t be more excited to see it play out! Read on and tell us if you’re excited about the once-dead villain coming back into the mix, but SPOILERS are ahead!
‘Teen Wolf’ Was Smart To Bring Back Kate Argent
If your jaw didn’t hit the floor when Kate Argent (Jill Wagner) stalked into frame in the final act of last night’s finale, you are a lying liar who lies. And not only is she back, but she’s a werewolf! (Or a werepanther, according to Jill’s Twitter? A terrifying werecreature, in any case.) It almost makes up for Allison’s (Crystal Reed)’s death. Almost. Almost.
In the past, fans have been upset that female villains have always bit the dust (Kate, the Darach, Kali) and stayed dead, where male villains (Peter, Gerard, Deucalion) have gotten a pass. Well, no longer!
It might seem contradictory to think that a necessary shake-up to the series is to bring back a plotline from Season 1, but trust: this needs to happen. I have, approximately, one million questions about what exactly went down between Kate and Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), not only because we never really got those answers, but because it would give more insight into the mysterious, closed-off (and devastatingly handsome) Derek Hale. And who knows, maybe we’ll find out how old he was when Kate seduced him and then burned his family alive! Dare we dream to actually get Derek Hale’s date of birth?!
‘Teen Wolf’ — How Will Chris Argent React To Kate Argent’s Return?
Furthermore, while we are still — and forever — mad about the death of Allison, which did not need to happen, the return of Kate Argent will give JR Bourne‘s character, Chris Argent, some interesting material to work with. As far as he knows, his father is a raving lunatic, and his wife, sister, and daughter have all died. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to Kate’s return. Chris told us on the finale last night that he has the ability to compartmentalize his emotions, but will he be able to do so when confronted by the sister he thought was dead, now a weresomething and crazier than ever?
More than anything, we would love a showdown between the two siblings where Chris gives her hell for violating the code and going after the Hale family. After all, Derek and Chris have been getting pretty chummy lately, and it would warm the cockles of my cold, black heart to see an Argent defending a Hale like that. Derek was absolutely terrified by Kate’s return on last night’s finale — you could see it in his eyes. He had regressed to the person he was when Kate seduced him; she still has a hold on him, and I want to see how that will unfold for Derek, if he is finally ready to forgive himself and fight back against his feelings of guilt and against Kate.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree that Kate’s return is the best thing to happen to Teen Wolf since Jackson (Colton Haynes) asked Scott where he buys his “juice?” Vote and tell me all of your Teen Wolf thoughts!
