L’Wren Scott’s longtime housekeeper and confidant Lupe Montufar is speaking out about the fashion designer’s personal struggles, claiming that L’Wren ‘sacrificed a lot’ to be with her rocker boyfriend, Mick Jagger. Lupe also claims that L’Wren was ‘desperate’ to marry and start a family with Mick, which added to her depression before tragically committing suicide on Monday, March 17.
L’Wren Scott’s housekeeper of 16 years has revealed that the troubled fashion designers was struggling to cope with the fact that her boyfriend Mick Jagger did not want to get married again.
L’Wren Scott Wanted To Marry Mick Jagger
Lupe had the privilege of working for L’Wren for about 16 years from 1993 to 2009, and is now speaking out about the esteemed designer’s personal relationship struggles. According to Lupe, L’Wren desperately wanted to marry her Rolling Stones frontman boyfriend of over a decade, Mick Jagger, but he was not looking to be wed again.
“She would tell me she wanted to get married and have a family, but she didn’t want to get her hopes up or say it out loud to Mick. She didn’t want to pressure him,” Lupe told the New York Daily News exclusively.
The former housekeeper reveals that just a few years ago, L’Wren dreamed of being married and having children. L’Wren gave up those hopes of settling down when she realized Mick was not interested in furthering their relationship.
“She sacrificed a lot to be with him. A few years ago, she thought she’d be with him forever and have a family,” Lupe shared.
L’Wren Knew Mick Had ‘Other Women’
As if having to give up dreams of being a blushing bride and having children with the love of her life, Lupe shares that L’Wren was also very much aware that Mick had a wandering eye and often spent time with other women.
“She knew there were other women, but she accepted it to be with him,” Lupe revealed.
L’Wren’s former housekeeper, who lost contact with the designer after she sold her Los Angeles home and moved to New York full time, says that she doesn’t remember L’Wren being depressed, but that dating Mick definitely ‘changed’ her.
“She was very loud and fun when she was young, but with Mick she turned more quiet. She used to yell ‘Lupe’ in a fun, boisterous voice, but later it was much softer and more reserved,” Lupe explained. “He had her under his spell.”
As tragic as this story is, hopefully L’Wren has finally found the peace she desperately sought on the other side.
