JLo dug deep into the archives for her ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ music video, where she brought back some of her most infamous outfits for the shoot — and she told us how it all came together!
Jennifer Lopez has proven once again that she is hotter than ever! The 44-year-old pop sensation debuted her sizzling music video for her most recent single, “I Luh Ya Papi,” on the March 13 episode of American Idol, where the star can be seen rocking very familiar looks! Backstage, she told HollywoodLife.com how it all came together.
Jennifer Lopez’s ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ Video Outfit — Versace Look Is Back:
When asked about paying homage to her old outfits she enthusiastically replied, “I know! And it wasn’t even – we didn’t really even plan that. It wasn’t like, ‘go get the outfit made!’ The stylist just bought it on the rack and I saw it and I was like, “What’s the jungle print doing there?” You know, that’s called the Versace jungle print – and I was like, “what is that?” And she was like, “No, that’s in the stores right now.” So crazy! We’re doing a rap video type of thing, that might be great, you know what I mean? So it just kind of worked out.” Well, it definitely did!
Jennifer Lopez’s ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ Music Video:
JLo teased fans by posting “Throwback Thursday” pics on Instagram, showing off some of her most infamous looks prior to the big reveal of the full video. The “I Luh Ya Papi” video begins with Jennifer and two of her backup dancer-friends discussing concepts for the music video- – and the director suggested some ideas like filming in “colorful” places such as the zoo or a water park. The ladies were were NOT impressed with the director’s ideas for the shoot, and questioned why men can objectify women in music videos — so why can’t a sexpot like JLo do the same?
Well, Jen and her crew did just that! Switch to a scene with Jennifer casually sitting on a lavish bed, donning a version of her iconic, low-cut Versace gown which she organically wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000. For her new video, the star rocked a Versus Versace jungle top and pants from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, which are currently available online, and at Versace boutiques in both NY and LA. Now those #TBT pics and the extremely similar look make total sense– and I love that she is re-wearing this amazing print!
Jennifer Lopez’s ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ Outfits:
While dancing around an array of steamy half-naked men, (holy abs!), the diva channeled her inner “Jenny From The Block” by rocking a slew of urban-inspired looks, such as a cropped statement hoodie that states ‘blessed,’ with grey harem-pants and high-top kicks and a denim-on-denim get-up.
Even with a slew of smoking-hot men, (and their adorable rears), my attention was fully devoted to JLo’s incredible ensembles. I absolutely adore Jen for bringing new-life to the most famous looks that made her a style icon she is today!
What do you think about JLo’s sexy looks that she rocked in her “I Luh Ya Papi” video? Do you like seeing stars recycle past looks?
