Emily VanCamp: ‘Captain America’ — Gorgeous Hair At The Premiere
Celebrity Stylist David Gardner created Emily’s polished ‘do. He told HollywoodLife.com: “Emily has gorgeous hair — her dress tonight is a showstopper and she is such a natural beauty that I decided to make the hair soft and touchable to allow that to shine through. I wanted to give her a silky straight blowout with some volume at the root that would move with her as she walked the red carpet.”
Here’s the how-to:
“After using a wide tooth comb (like I did on Emily’s wet hair), flip your head over and apply an egg-sized amount of the Herbal Essences Naked Volumizing Souffle into roots, work through hair. Flip head back over, add a bit more to the hairline for additional volume and lift.
Section hair from ear to ear around the back of your head, pin the top section up. Start from the back, blow dry hair straight using a large round brush to give it more body and movement. Continue to work through each section, blow drying with the round brush (I always make sure to blow dry at the hairline), the texture in that area can be different from the rest of the hair. The Volumizing Souffle is great for keeping this area smooth the entire night.
Post-blowout, spray Herbal Essences Naked Sheer Shine Mist to give hair a light touchable shine. Put hair into large Velcro rollers – one away from the face on the top, one on the crown, one on each side and two in the back. Once the rollers are in place, spray whole head with Herbal Essences Naked Flexible Hold Spritzer to keep the lift in the roots without leaving the hair stiff or sticky.
After makeup and wardrobe, take out the rollers, brush through and done! Sleek, sophisticated and gorgeous style!”

Rosie Johnston used Votre Vu products on Emily and explained the how-to to HollywoodLife.com:
Inspired by her Monique Lhuillier mini dress with long sleeves, Rosie said: “It’s very sexy, but very demure and classic at the same time.” The key focus of the look was “sleek, modern, yet sophisticated and focused on the eyes.”
“We went for a not so traditional smokey eye paired with really nude lips.” Rosie prepped lips with Votre Vu’s Champagne Kisses, a lip balm that is infused with Vitamin E and champagne grape seed oil for moisture.
She then used a combination of Kevyn Aucoin and Chanel foundations. For a pop of color of her cheeks, she used Votre Vu’s Vu-On Rouge in Bouquet Rose on the apples and then blended.
For the eyes, Rosie applied Votre Vu’s Lingerie Pour Les Yeux in Light all over Emily’s lids. Then layered the nude-bronze shade from the Palette Play in Copper on top.
Next, Rosie took the Le Joli Crayon in Charbon and lined her eyes with it. Then Rosie took the deep violet and black shades from the Palette Play in Violette to smoke the look and blended out the liner using a flat, wide eye shadow brush.
“The eye shadow palette is amazing; the colors are so gorgeous and really created the look we were going for,” Rosie said.
For the lashes, she applied three coats of Votre Vu’s Eiffel Power for volume and length as well as a few false lashes.
On Emily’s brows, Rosie used Arch de Triumphe in Warm for a “natural, yet defined look.”
“We always try to keep Emily’s look soft and sexy, but with a little bit of edge,” Rosie told HollywoodLife.com.
