‘Awkward’ doesn’t return until April 15, but we’ve got your first look at the new season today. It’s senior year and college is on the horizon, which means new hookups and break ups. Watch to find out who’s with — or without — who!
Finally, we can all feel better about our own awkwardness because Awkward is coming back for its fourth season, and it looks better than ever! The juicy trailer teases tons of dating, lots of mating and there’s even a new girl in town. Plus, we spotted Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Matty (Beau Mirchoff) in bed together!
Jenna & Matty Wind Up In Bed — Are They Together?
Awkward returns to MTV on April 15 (10/9c) with a special one-hour episode, and the Season 4 trailer opens up with Jenna and Matty waking up side-by-side on the school lawn, hand-in-hand. Then, we see Matty without his shirt on and then he shows up at Jenna’s doorstep. And then, they wake up in bed together, sans clothing!
Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) asks her bestie, “Are you guys dating or merely mating?” According to Matty, the two are friends with benefits and Jenna is not pleased. Senior year is so awkward!
Will the two make it work? That remains to be seen, but they definitely won’t live happily ever after without some chaos, including temptation from lots of fresh meat. Welcome to college! (“This place is like a Pinterest board full of bangable dudes just come to life,” says Tamara, in the best line ever.)
More Break Ups & Make Ups
It’s not just Jenna and Matty who are on the rocks during their final high school year. Tamara and Jake (Brett Davern) are working it out, too. Or maybe not? Jake says he wants to break up, but then serenades his lady in a public embarrassment at school. “He is Taylor Swifing me!” says Tamara. (Why does she say the best things ever all the time?)
It looks like Jenna also finds a “bangable dude” of her own and he’s completely smitten with her. And Matty? Not so smitten with Jenna’s new boy toy. But there’s a new girl in town so we think he’ll be just fine.
