Lil Boosie wasn’t sitting around his cell complaining about life during his four-plus years in prison. Instead, he took the opportunity to put in some major work, writing more than 1,000 songs while incarcerated. Good for him!

Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, told reporters on March 10 that he’s planning to drop a new album soon, because he wrote more than 1,000 tracks while doing time in the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
The 31-year-old rapper, who has called himself “the John Gotti of the South Side,” was jailed on drug charges and a probation violation. He credits his prison sentence with making him a “better person” and he now wants to dedicate his life to pumping out all that dirty south music that his loyal fans love and miss. He also wants to take care of his family, including his seven children.
“You can’t expect someone to come home and not feed his family,” he told reporters at a press conference held at the W Hotel in New Orleans.
