‘After The Rose': Catherine Giudici Tells Off Juan Pablo For No Proposal

Tue, March 11, 2014 12:17am EDT by 24 Comments

Everyone in the crowd was shocked when Juan Pablo refused to profess his love for his final rose winner, Nikki Ferrell. But no one was more appalled by Juan Pablo’s behavior than former ‘Bachelor’ star Catherine Giudici, who gave him a BIG piece of her mind for dissing Nikki by not popping the question.

We’re sure everyone from Clare Crawley to Chris Harrison would have enjoyed telling off Juan Pablo Galavis during The Bachelor‘s After the Final Rose special on March 10. In the end, it was Bachelor alum Catherine Giudici who slammed Juan Pablo — and we could be happier about her bold diss!

Catherine Giudici Disses Juan Pablo On ‘After The Final Rose’ For No Proposal

Juan Pablo was tight-lipped to the point of being disrespectful during the After the Final Rose special, refusing to open up about his feelings for Nikki or any of their plans for the future. Whenever Chris asked him a question, Juan Pablo replied by saying that the world should respect his and Nikki’s privacy now that the show is over.

The most infuriating part about all of this was that Juan Pablo knew exactly what he was signing up for when he agreed to be the next Bachelor. Chris said as much, but since he was the host he had to hold back a bit. Catherine, however, did not!

She and her husband, fellow Bachelor alum Sean Lowe, were in attendance for the show and they seemed just as disgusted by Juan’s bad behavior as the rest of us!

Catherine told Juan he was dissing The Bachelor and the show’s entire process, not to mention Nikki, by not proposing to her and revealing his true feelings during After the Final Rose. “Don’t slap the hand that fed you,” she tells Juan Pablo. Of course, this phrase was lost on Juan Pablo, but thankfully Chris made sure he got the message.

Sean Lowe Slams Juan Pablo: Tell Nikki You Love Her

Sean, ever the gentleman, just couldn’t understand how Juan Pablo could humiliate the woman who won his heart by refusing to profess his love for her on the show. Sean tells Juan Pablo that he fell madly in love with Catherine when they were on The Bachelor, and once he knew she was the one, he didn’t hold back.

“The moment I knew, I could not wait to tell her that,” Sean says. How sweet! Now that’s the kind of Bachelor we like to see. Juan Pablo could definitely take a few pointers from Sean!

Juaan did the right thing. He doesn’t have to say he loves her on national TV if he’s not ready. I like Sean and Catherine but it’s not their place to say anything. Juan has a daughter to think about too, who Nikki has met for only a little while, so he can’t easily propose that quickly unless Nikki has spent some valuable time with the family. Sean and Catherine need to get over themselves.

Kudos to Juan Pablo for standing up for his real feelings and making Nikki feel like she is the love of his life without delving into the ABC chain and Chris Harrison desires on making him look like a puppet by saying the words “I love you”. This is his life, and although the show provided for fancy events, they have also made a ton of money out of this guy. Catherine Giudici, is wrong to say “don’t slap the hand that feeds you”, just because he doesn’t say what the show wants and the audience to hear. Much happiness to JP and Nikki, How disappointing to see how Chris Harrison was somewhat of a bully to JP by forcing him to say something the guy is not ready to say.

I totally agree.

Juan Pablo is the only who knows what his real feelings are for Nikki. Whether they ended up getting married or not, is not our problem.

Although I’m a fan of Sean and Catherine, on this one I totally DISAGREE with them. Catherine does not have any right to tell off Juan Pablo that he should proposed since ABC paid him to be the Bachelor! Nope!

Just because Sean proposed to her does not mean that every Bachelor that follows in Sean’s footsteps have to propose. And Catherine should know that despite the fact that Sean proposed to her, Sean waited for a year to marry her because in Sean’s own words, he “would like to get to know her better before and enjoy each other” before they walk down the aisle. In short Sean wants to make sure that he is truly in love with Catherine (and not just the pressure of the show making him propose to Catherine).

The show is about finding love, and if Juan Pablo feels he has not found love on the show, who is Sean, Catherine, ABC and the rest of the world to tell Juan Pablo he should have proposed?

ABC you lose!! Nikki and JP are not the usual mindless robots ABC typically controls. =) Props to JP for trolling all over the final rose episode. =)

Juan Pablo is a real scumbag, self absorbed, un-educated and a waste of time. Girls should go running away from him.

Get a life Juan!

The tide will turn. The “machine” that is the show, started to socially construct him negatively by editing things out that were positive, and including things that fit the negative image they were trying to construct of him, in order to distance themselves from him after he made a misconstrued comment about homosexuality. It’s pretty obvious to anyone who chooses to question what the powerful spin doctors are up to. It’s funny actually to watch all these second rate writers and web sites, and so called “celebrities” dominate the discussion and the rest of the puppets in the world eat it up as “truth”. Juan Pablo has been bullied by all the things that were portrayed about him. I can only imagine how powerless that must make one feel. However, you have seriously underestimated him! He is very intelligent and will persevere. Just wait and see. All this garbage about “worst bachelor ever” is pathetic. He was very respectful and kind to all the women. He didn’t drink alcohol and encouraged them not to. He refused to do the two dates thing because he saw it as hurtful to the women. He was so sensitive and kind. He was funny. Just b/c he made a comment outside the show, all of a sudden, like a pack of wild dogs, the show and media turned on him and yes, bit by bit, with each disparaging comment, or cleverly constructed image, they tried to make him seem to be a villain. Shame on ALL of you. To be so readily taken in, to be so manipulated by the powers that be on the show/station; to not think critically about what has happened, is a sad reflection of the level of intelligence in the mainstream!

Kathy, you have expressed so well how powerful and manipulative the media can be if it goes against their mainstream thinking. JP was very real and he is really trying to make his relationship grow the way it should be and not by being press by ABC and their army.

Are you nuts? That ‘heifer’ is far far hotter than the girl who can’t even dye her hair properly or do it up. Her black roots are halfway up her head and her hair in that finale looked like it was done up by a 6 year old. And her ‘man’ just F’d the other final girl and told her how great a lay she was. Which girl would you rather be? The other ‘F’? Sounds like it.

I agree with Sean and Catherine completely. And they are proof it works if your in it for the right reasons. I think Juan Pablo was only the Bachelor for his 15 minutes of fame. He by far was the worst bachelor I have ever seen and Nikki deserves much better then that. Chris Harrison is right. You go on this journey with the contestants and you want them to find love not be a sleazy, disrespectful pig. Is that how JP would want a guy treating his daughter?

I am sure that Juan Pablo’s reason for joining The Bachelor is to find a wife.

First and foremost, I want everyone to know I’m a big fan of Sean and Catherine and I’m so happy that they are now married. But while I understand that Sean and Catherine’s union is one of the very few “success” stories in this reality show, Sean and Catherine (and the rest of us) should not, and cannot, expect those that follow after them will have the same success as theirs. That’s the reality of it.

If Sean remembers it during his own Bachelor show, when it came down to 2 finalists (Lindsey and Catherine), Sean’s mother had a “one-on-one” talk with him in Thailand where she told Sean NOT to propose to any one of those two if Sean “is not sure he is in love with anyone of them.” And that’s the key – LOVE.

But because the show (both Bachelor and Bachelorette) are geared toward a happy ending of a “proposal,” ABC was disappointed (as well as most people) when Juan Pablo did not make that proposal to Nikki. The reason? Juan Pablo is NOT sure he is in love with Nikki! I think Juan Pablo’s heart is with the one contestant who walked away – Sharleen!

And this brings me to the former Bachelorette Desiree Hartstock. I don’t believe Chris Siegfried is truly in love with Des, nor is Des really in love with Chris. Des knows her heart belongs to someone else who walked out on her, too (like Sharleen did on Juan Pablo). The difference between Des and Juan Pablo is that Juan Pablo did not pretend to love someone and so he did not propose to Nikki. Des on the other hand did not want to be HUMILIATED (again, after she was eliminated by Sean on The Bachelor) in front of millions so she accepted Mr. Siegfried’s proposal even though she knows deep down that her heart belongs to another contestant who walked out on her!

Unlike Desiree Hartstock, Juan Pablo did not give in to the “pressure” of TV “ratings” (and the ABC network) to PROPOSE to Nikki. He followed his heart – he is not sure he is in LOVE with Nikki! Juan Pablo is at least HONEST enough to admit he is not ready to propose to Nikki.

Yes, we all want a happy ending, but the realty of it is that WE CANNOT LET THE WORLD (OR A TV NETWORK) MAKE US LOVE, OR PROFESS OUR LOVE, TO SOMEONE WHO WE DON’T REALLY LOVE DEEP INSIDE, all just for the sake of TV ratings! I truly believe Juan Pablo (and those before him) went on the show to find love. Unfortunately, he was not lucky enough (like Sean Lowe) to meet on the show the woman he truly loves on the show. END OF STORY!

Good luck to both of them.

Another thoughtless and emotional comment. Comments like this makes you doubt of the intelligence of some people here. This comment is the perfect example of comment by emotion against a comment by reasonable analytic thinking. Thank goodness not all comments lack superfluous mentality.

I’m with Juan Pablo on this one. He made the right decision of not proposing to Nikki because I’m sure Juan Pablo is not sure he is REALLY in love with Nikki to make that commitment – although ABC Network would want him to propose (which I don’t think is in his contract to do so whether he is in love or not).

Although I’m a big fan of Sean and Catherine, but on this one I totally DISAGREE with them and others. First of all, I was never a fan of Juan Pablo – he is very handsome but very SHALLOW man. But I’m a big fan of one of the contestants on the show – Sharleen Joynt, and I’m glad she walked out because Sharleen deserves a better man than Juan Pablo, someone on the same INTELLECTUAL level as her.

If Sean remembers it during his Bachelor show, when it came down to 2 finalists, his own mother told him NOT to propose to any one of the two left if Sean “is not sure which one.” I think Juan Pablo’s heart is with one of the contestants who walked away! Sharleen. But because the show is geared to the happy ending of a proposal, ABC was disappointed (as well as most people) when Juan Pablo did not make that commitment to Nikki. The REALITY of it is Juan Pablo is truly NOT in love with Nikki!

And this brings me to the former Bachelorette Desiree Hartstock. I don’t believe Mr. Siegfried is in love with Des, nor is Des truly in love with Mr. Siegfried because we all know her heart belongs to someone else who walk out on her, too (like Sharleen on Juan Pablo). But since Des does not want to be HUMILIATED (again after she was eliminated by Sean on The Bachelor) in front of millions of people by ending the show WITHOUT a man, she “accepted” Mr. Siegfried’s proposal (instead of going with her heart and true feelings like Juan Pablo did).

Unlike Desiree Hartstock, I believe Juan Pablo made the right decision on this one and I really admire him for that (just as admire Sharlee Joynt walking out on Juan Pablo because she feels they don’t have anything in common and are not on the same intellectual level). Yes, we all want a happy ending, but in the same token we cannot sacrifice our own personal happiness to a TV show’s wishes and ratings. Good luck to both of them.

I agree. Juan Pablo did do the right thing by not proposing because he is not in love. The TV show format is what made it awkward – according to the “script” he was supposed to at least fake it if he didn’t really feel it. The guy is simply showing his true colors. Take it or leave it (Nikki should get her head out of her butt and RUN as Sean tweeted). The guy is a narcissist and has ADHD ( his mom gave it away). He totally doesn’t get it. At the beginning of this show I said to myself there’s a reason why this guy is still single. Now we know.

Lee you are so on the money on this seasons Bachelor. Juan Pablo could have been a little more sensitive in how he handle some of these women but he had every right to “not” propose if he did not feel it was right for him. That ‘s the reality of dating and trying to find the right woman you want to spend the rest of your life with, you don’t propose to a woman just to get good ratings for a TV show. I like Catherine and Sean as well, but they are both wrong to get mad at Juan for being strong enough to make a decision he considers a “very” important decision to make in his life. I believe he did fall for Sharleen. As he mentioned in an episode, she could have been his soulmate. Also, he told one of his family members, when he went back to Miami, that Sharleen might be “the one”. I felt for him when she left.
