Still quivering in fear at the thought of OKCupid? Trembling over Tinder? Then maybe don’t take the word of ‘Online Dating Rituals of the American Male’ star Alex Stein, whose ridiculously clueless behavior nearly gets him slapped on the show’s March 9 premiere.

Online Dating Rituals of the American Male has officially arrived, and with it a truly hilarious character named Alex Stein, who has been on “hundreds of dates” with everyone from “22-year-olds to 40-year-olds to little people.” HollywoodLife.com couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity to pick Alex’s brain — find out what he had to say about how to win (and lose) the average dating male’s favor below!

‘Online Dating Rituals Of The American Male’ Premiere: Star Alex Stein On What Men Really Want

Okay, so maybe Alex might not be the number one guy that women would want to hear online dating advice from. After all, he pushes obnoxiously for sex — and smiles when he mentions his adversity to condoms — during the show’s March 9 premiere. But you can’t deny that with hundreds of dates under his belt, Alex is a pro — and he knows exactly what you should and should not do to land a guy like him.

“Nothing put down anything about money,” Alex says when asked for the number one thing that all male online daters truly hate. “Nothing about ‘I’m looking for a sugar daddy.’ You ruin the whole thing! It tanks your whole profile. It just sends the wrong message. They ask you [on dating sites] how much money you make, and I don’t even answer that question — that’s nobody’s business. They can figure that out after we hang out for a bit.”

Fair enough. Also fair is Alex’s opinion on what makes a lady’s profile irresistible to men.

“The most important thing to me is a girl has to have a sense of humor,” Alex continues. “If a girl cannot joke around or laugh at a joke, it’s over already. That’s why I like to look at a profile and see if she’s willing to joke about her hometown or something. When you answer those questions so seriously, that’s a turnoff. Make a joke!”

But Alex — who goes by the moniker PrimeTime99 (if you’re interested) and says he’s been “slapped” and “cussed at” during his quest to find true love (or a one-night stand), admits that there are many things that might surprise women about how men view their online dating profiles — first and foremost, that they actually read the whole damn thing! (So maybe ease up on those bathroom selfies and practice writing down a hilarious life story, you know?)

“When I’m looking at a girl’s profile, [the biggest mystery] is finding what they really want in a relationship,” he says. “[The hardest part] is kind of reading their profile and figuring out what they really want; trying to get inside their brain. That’s the hardest thing. I wish I could see the world from their eyes so I know what to give them — as you see on the show, a lot of the things I do turn women off…  I don’t have trouble getting dates, I just have trouble getting more than a date.”

Alex Stein: ‘Every Human Thanks About Sex Every 1.5 seconds. Don’t Quote Me On That.’

Alex’s horndog behavior on the show may come as a shock to some viewers, but Alex claims that there’s some reasoning behind his actions — he feels that women already know if they want to sleep with a man within minutes of meeting him, so his rear-end grabs are a litmus test to see if he made the cut.

“Every human thinks about sex every 1.5 seconds,” he says. “Don’t quote me on that exact statistic. [Ed’s Note: Oops!] When a girl and a guy look at each other, every single girl knows within the first ten seconds of looking at a guy if she would sleep with him. She doesn’t know when — it could be ten years, it could be ten minutes — but it’s a red light/green light thing.”

Interesting! And while Alex dealt with some serious rejection in the premiere, he hasn’t given up hope that his reality star stint will end up with some time in the sack.

“I’m sure there’s going to be some backlash, but bring it,” he says. “Who cares? There are going to be girls that are turned off by this show, but that’s just life. But with every girl that’s turned off, I guarantee you that there will be a couple of girls out there that are turned on. I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t think I would meet more ladies!”

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree with Alex’s thoughts on online dating? Do his words make you more or less likely to want to take the plunge? Tune in to Online Dating Rituals Of The American Male Sunday, March 9 at 10 p.m. on Bravo, and in the meantime, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
