It’s been 10 years since Mean Girls first graced our movie screens and became an instant classic. Since then, the teen flick has become a lasting pop culture phenomenon. Lindsay Lohan gave fans possibly the best news in the history of forever on March 6 — a Mean Girls reunion is happening. So, freshen up on those classic quotes because we’re getting another dose of the fab four: Cady Heron, Regina George, Gretchen Weiners and Karen Smith.
‘Mean Girls’ Reunion In The Works — Cast Will Reunite For New Comedy Sketch
Lindsay visited The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on March 6 and revealed that a Mean Girls reunion was coming together. Lindsay told Jimmy that she recently ran into Mean Girls screenwriter Tina Fey (aka Ms. Norbury), who mentioned she was trying to get everyone together for a reunion. Jimmy requested that the reunion happen on his show and we have to say we don’t mind the idea!
To further confirm the possibility of Mean Girls returning to our screens in some capacity, sources tell TMZ that several original cast members are already on board, including Amy Poehler, Jonathan Bennett, Rajiv Surendra and Daniel Franzese. There’s no word yet on the rest of the core four: Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried.
Yes, please let this happen. Please.
The first rumors of a Mean Girls reunion started floating around when Lindsay posted a photo on Instagram of her and co-star Daniel reuniting in New York City in February.
