The modeling competition is back in action, and they kicked off the start of the season by modeling in Bryant Park — in their underwear! And with a whole new season comes a whole new batch of drama — so, who didn’t make the cut?
The Face is back! Hosted by Nigel Barker, the show welcomed two new judges: Russian Model/Actress Anne V, and model/actress Lydia Hearst, who joined the fabulous Naomi Campbell as coaches this season. The premiere episode started off with a bang, as the new girls were instructed to strip down in NYC’s Bryant Park for a pop-up fashion show — needless to say, nerves were running high as the contestants strutted their stuff in nothing but bras and panties!
‘The Face’ Season 2 Premiere Recap:
Some of the girls were definitely a little shaky with their runway walks, and it wasn’t long before Naomi Campbell took notice. When it came to picking teams, Anne V and Naomi got into a rather heated argument over Russian contestant Kira Dikhtyar. Team Naomi won her over, causing some lingering tension between the two judges — and that wasn’t the end of the drama!
The Girl’s Try To Find Their Creative Edge: Juicy Couture Ad Challenge
For the first battle, the teams had to create a window ad in which the models had to hold a pose together for one minute. The theme of the Juicy Couture ad was “Girls Night Out,” which many of the contestants had difficulty channeling. The team that had the most difficulty working together was Team Naomi, however, they ended up winning the challenge for their perfect “Selfie Pose,” embodying one of the essential moments of a “Girl’s Night Out.”
Who Gets Eliminated?
Team Lydia and Team Anne were in a tough position, as it was time for the elimination round. It got really emotional as the judges did their best to strategize which team member would be put in the hot seat. Team Lydia picked their youngest, most inexperienced model, Ray Clanton, hoping Naomi would want to see her grow more in the competition.
Anne V took a different approach and nominated one of her strongest models, Isabelle Bianchi, for elimination as a tactic to compete with Lydia’s team — unfortunately, the plan backfired and Naomi sent Isabelle home! It was clear that when Naomi said she was ready to play hard ball with Anne V that she may not have made the best choice in her elimination — it was all about getting back at her for the beginning of the episode! I think they need to solve their differences and not take it out on the contestants, who are giving it their all to win!
What do you think? Should Isabelle have been voted off? Will Anne V and Naomi get along for the sake of the show? After all, the contestants are all competing for a fabulous spread in Elle and a contract to represent Frederic Fekkai. Be sure to come back next week for more, and tune in every Wednesday at 10PM on Oxygen.
