Teresa and Joe Giudice entered a deal in which they pled guilty in their heavily publicized, money fraud case. While the couple is waiting to be sentenced, Teresa seems to be more concerned about their children’s well-being. Rightfully so.
Teresa Giudice along with husband Joe Giudice pled guilty to fraud on March 4 and are now waiting to be sentenced. She faces a maximum of 27 months behind bars, while he faces a maximum of 46. That’s a combined total of 73 months in prison! Because they might be in the slammer at the same time, Teresa is devastated by the possibility that her young daughter’s might be parent-less for a while.
Teresa Giudice ‘Heartbroken’ That Sentencing Will Affect Her Daughters
While Teresa and Joe are facing a combined maximum of 73 months in prison, it seems as though the couple is more concerned about their four children. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband will ask the judge to allow them to serve consecutive instead of concurrent sentences so that their kids are not left parent-less during that period, reports TMZ.
The couples’ attorney Miles Feinstein told TMZ that they will be asking the judge to serve their terms separately for the sake of daughters Gia, 13, Gabriella, 9, Miliani, 8, and Audriana, 4. “I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family,” Teresa told HollywoodLife.com in an official statement. “Especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world.”
Miles says the judge will most likely agree to the request since he has allowed it before.
Teresa & Joe Giudice Plead Guity To Fraud Charges
On March 4, the couple pled guilty on their money fraud case. Teresa reportedly pled guilty to 4 counts –including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud– and Joe to 5 counts–same as Teresa– plus failure to file tax returns, this according to TMZ.
Some of their crimes include using fake pay stubs, tax returns and W-2 forms to inflate their incomes and obtain nearly $5 million in mortgages and other loans. They also allegedly hid money they got from Real Housewives and other business ventures after filing for bankruptcy in 2009, TMZ continued. The couple will be sentenced on July 8.
What do you think HollyMoms? Should the judge allow Teresa & Joe to serve consecutive sentences?
