‘The Voice’ is on a roll this season! The fourth night of blind auditions didn’t disappoint, with each of the judges picking up some major talent. Who was YOUR favorite contestant of the night?
Blake Shelton sure knows how to pick ’em! The country crooner added three seriously talented singers to his team on March 4 — including the most sought-after artist of the night, Audra Mclaughlin, whose stunning performance of “Angel From Montgomery” prompted an elusive four-chair turn from the judges. Season 6 of The Voice is off to a rockin’ start!
‘The Voice': Blake Shelton Wins The Night’s Best Artists — Blind Auditions Week 2
The Voice returned in full form for its fourth round of blind auditions on March 4. Blake Shelton may have gotten off to a slow start last week, but he more than made up for it this week by picking up talent left and right. It looks like Blake is in it to win it this season! Now, here’s a look at all of the chair-turning contestants of the night.
The first singer to perform was Nashville resident Megan Ruger, who sang Pink‘s “Just Like a Pill.” Blake was particularly impressed with her performance, saying, “You kept going to new levels, and every time you did it was more powerful and more powerful.” Usher tried to convince Megan to join his team, but she said she “felt the Nashville part” of her compelled her to go with Blake.
Next up was Morgan Wallen, who sang a wonderfully raspy rendition of Howie Day‘s “Collide.” Shakira and Usher both turned their chairs around for Morgan. Even though his performance had Shakira all shook up — she said his voice was “as manly as it gets” on this show — Morgan decided to go with Usher.
Emily B gave a sultry, haunting performance of Chris Isaak‘s “Wicked Game” that had all of the judges wanting to hear more. After she belted out some pretty powerful notes, everyone turned except Adam Levine. Emily ultimately decided to go with Shakira, who praised her for switching up the song’s arrangement.
Stevie Joe gave a sexy performance of Usher’s “There Goes My Baby” that seemed to intrigue all of the judges. In the end, only Usher turned around — but not until he heard Stevie Joe hit one particularly sweet note in his impressive falsetto. The judges were all blown away when they turned around and saw that Stevie Joe was not black. Adam stated the obvious by saying, “You’re a white man!” Even Usher was surprised — but mostly just excited to have Stevie Joe on his team, asking him, “You ready to win this thing?”
Audra Mclaughlin, who gave a sweet but powerful performance of “Angel From Montgomery,” was the only artist to turn all four chairs tonight. Adam turned around almost immediately, and Blake followed shortly after. These guys were so impressed with Audra’s vocal abilities that they actually gave her a standing ovation! And they weren’t alone in their praise. “Youre the one we’ve been waiting for,” Shakira told Audra. But her words were wasted because Audra decided to join Team Blake! Another big win for the country crooner!
Other successful singers of the night were Dani Moz and Music Box, who joined Team Shakira, and Lexi Luca, who went with Team Blake.
