No one is more upset with John Travolta for butchering Idina Menzel’s name at the Oscars than John Travolta himself! But after ‘beating himself up’ over the flub all day, John has three words for all the haters out there — let it go!
John Travolta On Oscars Flub With Idina Menzel’s Name — Haters Should ‘Let It Go’
Fans just can’t seem to forgive John for introducing the Tony Award-winning star as “Adele Dazeem” — but maybe it will help to know that he’s taking the gaffe very seriously.
“I’ve been beating myself up all day,” the Savages star said in a statement to E! News. “Then I thought…What would Idina Menzel say? She’d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’ Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”
We’re so glad John is owning up to his mistake! We think fans should give him a break — especially since “Adele” has decided not to hold it against him.
Idina Menzel Forgives John Travolta For Oscars Name Gaffe
Idina has also forgiven John for his “Adele Dazeem” gaffe, according to E! News.
“She laughed it off,” a source told the sute. “She thought it was so funny. She was like, ‘What are you going to do?'”
After Idina’s amazing “Let It Go” performance, she seemed to do just that, and even reportedly hugged John backstage.
“The Oscars were a dream come true for Idina,” the source said. “She wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of that.”
