John Travolta may have butchered Idina Menzel’s name during her big Oscar debut, but sources recently revealed that the ‘Frozen’ star just simply laughed it off.
All seems to be forgiven for John Travolta, 60, as sources revealed recently that Idina Menzel, 42, simply laughed off John’s mispronunciation of her name during his introduction of her performance at the Oscars on March 2. We use the term “mispronunciation” very lightly.
Idina Menzel Forgives John Travolta For Name Gaffe
Sources revealed that Frozen star Idina Menzel isn’t upset by John Travolta’s “Adele Dazeem” gaffe at the Oscars, reports Eonline.com.
“She laughed it off,” the source said. “She thought it was so funny. She was like, ‘What are you going to do?'”
Yeah, what do you do when you’re standing on stage in front of a crowd of thousands at one of the biggest events of the year, and a huge movie star butchers your name?
After Idina’s “Let It Go” performance, she seemed to do just that, and was even said to have hugged John backstage.
“The Oscars were a dream come true for Idina,” the source said. “She wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of that.”
Also, after her performance, the diva tweeted, “That was crazy balls. What a night.”
John Flubs Idina’s Name At Oscars
John was the lucky celeb picked to introduce Idina before she performed the Oscar-winning song, and quite frankly, he blew it pretty hard. After making a pretty nice Wicked joke (a play in which Idina starred), the actor then introduced Idina as “Adele Dazeem.”
Obviously Idina took the flub in stride — she actually didn’t even seem to acknowledge it — and went on to nail her “Let It Go” performance.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Was it just an honest mistake? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
