The Oscars are coming up and we can’t wait for what’s to come. Celebrity hairstylist Edward Tricomi from Warren-Tricomi Salon EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com what hair trends will probably be on the red carpet at the 2014 Oscars. Find out more below!

Oscars Hair Trends — Expect Braids, Top Knots & More

Edward EXCLUSIVELY reveals to HollywoodLife.com the hairstyles to expect at the 2014 Oscars.

He tell us: “Red carpet events always have a lot of beautiful gowns so many actresses like to pull their hair back and twist it into a chignon to make the dress and jewelry the focus. You will also see a lot of ponys twisted into up-dos as well as small braids and top knots. Some actresses will wear their down in more iconic ‘sets’ from the 40s and 50s that work very well for the red carpet. You’ll also see some 60s shapes as they are being used more and more frequently on the carpet.”

“Many actresses like Jennifer Lawrence have cut their hair short — it’s very hot right now. Bobs and even shorter styles are going to be a huge trend we continue to see on the red carpet. Then you have an actress like Scarlett Johansson, who will do something baroque, very 20s or 30s. She always does something interesting with her hair and I love seeing what she does.”
