Kerry Washington’s Braid At NAACP — How To Get Her Romantic Style
Kerry’s long side braid was a romantic twist on a classic style. The volume at her crown gave the simple braid an elegant touch.
Sue Nonn from the John Barrett Salon in New York City EXCLUSIVELY shared the easy steps to creating this gorgeous braid!
“1. Curl hair with a 1.5” curling iron. Allow curls to cool, and gently rub John Barrett Be Hold Styling Balm in hands and fingers, then comb through for added texture and piece-y look.
2. Gently tease hair at crown then loosely gather hair into a ponytail and secure ponytail extensions around hair. For added texture, leave a thick section of the teased, texturized hair outside the braid. We’ll use these pieces to wrap around the braided pony (just at nape of the neck).
3. Rub more product in hands and begin fishtail braid, incorporating both hair extensions (for a fuller look) and original hair. Braid loosely and secure with elastic.
4. Gently fan out braid with thumbs for added piecey-ness and texture (add product as needed). Pull pieces out to frame either side of face and to add softness. Adjust and style with fingers and hands.”
Kerry’s Red Carpet Braid
This flirty hairstyle was the perfect choice for Kerry’s red carpet look. Her braid was feminine yet dramatic, which allowed her to go with minimal jewelry with her drop-sleeved dress. Her braid was more than enough to accessorize her neckline!
We think Kerry looked stunning! Do you agree, Hollywoodlifers?
