When it was reported on Feb. 26 that Katy Perry, 29, and John Mayer, 36, had broken up for the second time, we weren’t sure whether this breakup would stick! However, a source has revealed EXCLUSIVELY why Katy’s friends are certainly HOPING that the pair are over for good!
We have to admit — when Katy Perry and John Mayer split briefly in March 2013 after confirming their relationship in the summer of 2012, we were convinced that they would be together for good after their reunion! However, clearly we were wrong, as we learned on Feb. 26 that the pair has broken up again! Furthermore, Katy’s friends are actually hoping for this breakup to stick, a source has revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY! Read on to find out why!
Katy Perry’s Friends Hoping That She Won’t Get Back Together With John Mayer
Our HollywoodLife.com source told us that “no one would be surprised if they got back together. They love each other and John can be very convincing,” which seems about right. However, the source claims that Katy’s friends are “hoping this break up sticks because they don’t think he’s good for her,” and that Katy was “not herself when she was with him; she became a total homebody.”
Not that there’s anything wrong with being a homebody, but apparently Katy even stopped wanting to “have fun with her girlfriends” altogether!
Katy Perry Wasn’t Ready To Get Married To John Mayer
Our source went on to say that “everything about [John], it wasn’t healthy.” Shots fired!
Apparently, a big reason for their breakup was the fact that John was ready to put a ring on it — and Katy wasn’t ready to “take the plunge!” Our source continued that she was afraid that her attempt at marriage would fail for a second time, as it did with ex Russell Brand, 38. It’s so sad to hear that that’s Katy’s take on the situation, but could she be blind to what her friends have been seeing in John?
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will John and Katy get back together? What do you think about Katy’s reason for breaking up, and do you think that her friends are right? Let us know.
