It was time to meet the parents for Juan Pablo. ‘The Bachelor’ headed to the homes of the final four ladies . . . but not all the folks were as excited about JP as their daughters.
We learned quite a lot about Juan Pablo Galavis and the final four contestants on the Feb. 24 epsiode of The Bachelor. He’s pretty good with mothers (and brought flowers to each one), but he’s not so good with guns . . . or with fathers.
Juan Pablo Impresses Nikki & Renee’s Parents
First up was Nikki, who brought Juan Pablo for some homestyle BBQ and bull riding in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. Oh and after he rode the bull, she rode it with him which may have been one of the most sexual moves we’ve seen . . . well except for that time Clare slept with him. Nikki’s parents seemed into him and approving, and Nikki battled with whether or not she wanted to say “I love you,” but luckily she held out. Overall, their date was simple and a little bit boring.

I was most excited about Juan Pablo to meet Renee and her family, since she has a son of her own. He headed to Sarasota, Florida and went to Ben’s little league game — which was adorable for her. She is such a mom and it was the cutest to see them reunite. Oh yeah, and Juan Pablo was there, too. He met her family, and her parents told her they could tell how crazy about him she was. She almost said “I love you” too, and thankfully “it didn’t flow.”
Both Nikki and Renee almost said it and you could tell he wanted them too, since he kept asking them what they were thinking. I’m so happy neither of them budged.
Andi & Clare’s Families Hesitant To Accept Juan Pablo
Let’s just say it’s too bad that Nikki didn’t teach Juan Pablo to shoot guns while he was in Missouri. He headed to Georgia next, where he went to the range with Andi (and totally sucked), then met her family — her adorable mother who loved him because he danced and her father who wasn’t really feeling him. I felt like I was watching my own father when he was completely honest with JP, basically telling him that he couldn’t give him his blessing, that he wasn’t good enough for his daughter because he was also dating three other women — hey, it’s true! Her sister wasn’t convinced fully either, which I’m assuming will be the breaking point eventually for Andi and JP.
Juan Pablo’s last stop was Sacramento, Cali. where he met Clare at a park. I know what you’re thinking, how boring. However, for the first time of the season I was actually Team Clare as she got even more candid about the relationship she had with her late father. When taking him to her full house of women, most of the sisters were open — except one. Lara didn’t want Clare or Juan Pablo to have any one-on-one time with her mother. It came off as rude and weird, but it was evident later that she was just uber-protective of her little sis. Clare’s mother ended up having a great conversation with Juan Pablo, and the connection was so sweet.
Juan Pablo Says Goodbye To Renee
After all was said and done, it was time for the rose ceremony. I honestly didn’t want to any of the girls go after the way the dates went, and I liked Renee the most all along, so it broke my heart to see her leave.
She’s been my favorite since day one, but she and Nikki had the most low-key dates, and I know he’s too obsessed with Nikki and her attitude to send her home. I’m actually glad Renee’s going home to Ben; I think he’s more special to her than Juan Pablo was. It wasn’t easy for JP either, and you could tell he was seriously hurt since he was crying more than she was. After the elimination, she told Juan Pablo that she had fallen in love with him and that she saw the silver lining. The way she felt — which she said was unlike anything she’d felt before — opened her up to a whole new world of feelings. She is the classiest of the bunch, for sure and the most real.
The elimination was the first of the season that I actually got a little emotional over! What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Were you shocked by the elimination? What about how Andi’s father reacted?
