The skier had a flawless winning run on Feb. 20, which nabbed her the gold medal! We are so happy for her and thrilled for the US team.

U.S. Skier David Wise Wins Gold In The Olympic Halfpipe
David Wise expertly navigated the difficult halfpipe course to score an impressive 92 in his first run, which proved to be enough for the gold despite a dangerously bad second run. Canadian Mike Riddle earned the silver with a score of 90.60, while France’s Kevin Rolland took home the bronze with an 88.60.
This was the 20th medal overall for the U.S., whose team has won at least one medal every day in Sochi. David lived up to his extremely high expectations; as he won gold in the same event during the past three X Games.
Unfortunately, his teammates didn’t fare quite so well. Lyman Currier and Torin Yater-Wallace both fell on their first runs, with Lyman seemingly obtaining an injury. “It popped,” he sobbed, as he found his father in the audience. Sad, sad, sad. Thankfully, he’s only 19 and may be back in four years.
HollywoodLifers, were you surprised that Maddie won gold?
