‘American Idol': Sam Woolf Dominates Top 15 Guys During Rush Week

Did you like Sam as much as we did? Watch his performance, then drop a comment with YOUR top ‘Idol’ pick from Rush Week!

This season’s top 15 guys went head to head (voice to voice?) on the Feb. 19 episode of American Idol, and while there were quite a few stand-out performers, one contestant stood head and shoulders above the rest: Florida native Sam Woolf! Excuse me while I totally fan-girl over him.

Not only was Sam’s version of David Gray‘s “Babylon” a breezy romp of plucky perfection, but the charming brunette had the entire audience eating out of the palm of his hand. I hate to be ‘that guy,’ but Sam totally fits the mold of past winners like Phillip Phillips and David Cook – and by that, I mean he’s a handsome white guy with a guitar. He’s pretty much a shoe-in to make it through to the next round, if not dominate the entire season.

‘American Idol’ Top 15 Guys: Malcolm Allen & Alex Preston Also Impress During Rush Week

Of course, while Sam was my personal favorite contestant this week, he was far from the only stunner. Malcolm Allen, who performed Anthony Hamilton‘s “Comin’ From Where I’m From,” and Alex Preston, who took on “Volcano” by Damien Rice, both deserve honorable mentions for their outstanding performances. Both singers really impressed me, and while they might not all make it far in the competition, it’s no surprise that all three singers were allowed through to the next round.

‘American Idol': 5 Guys Say Goodbye

Sadly, not all 15 remaining guys had a great night. In fact, five guys were cut right off the bat! Briston Maroney, Casey Thrasher, Ethan Harris, Jordan Brisbane and Maurice Townsend were all sent packing tonight, leaving only 10 guys to battle it out for America’s votes.

HollywoodLifers, which of the top 15 guys did you like best? Do you approve of the guys that made it through to the next round? Drop a comment with your thoughts on the Rush Week results below!

Sam woolf has difinitely got the best voice and potential of all the idols this season . The shy quality should be admired, he is young , but I think it is not just shy it is the respect he has as a person from living and spending time with his grandparents, that will no doubt grow him into a great music artist who will grow in just the right way. Respect in a genuine way is what we need in the future idols for our next generation for the world, Justine Bieber ( I am a Canadian) had the chance, as many, to do just that. I think Sam is the real deal, I hope he keeps growing in his genuine way, and wins this competion, to bring something much needed to our young people today, nothing phoney, someone I don’t see as getting lost or caught up in fame, I really think he will remain Sam, just what the young people of the next generation need! Go Sam, keep growing, be confindant, you can, and should win this years idol,we need a new inspiration, who can remind the young of todays world, that it you can be respectful,& cool, and you do………………. you have a great voice, your not just cute…Good luck Sam!
