Lamar has signed a deal to play for the Spanish team Laboral Kutxa! Even though his ultimate goal is to return to the NBA, Lamar doesn’t think he’s settling by agreeing to play ball overseas. In fact, he thinks it’s a great opportunity, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Unfortunately, not one team in the NBA felt comfortable signing Lamar Odom after his alleged drug problems and DUI charge. But the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers star wasn’t willing to give up on his dream of playing ball so he decided to continue his career overseas, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Lamar Odom On Spanish Team: Why He’s Signing With Non-NBA Basketball Club
Of course Lamar wants to play for the NBA but he understands that he has to prove himself again after his wild antics over the past year.

“Lamar worked hard for this opportunity and no, he doesn’t think it’s a setback at all to play basketball overseas,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “It’s an opportunity to get back where he was in the NBA and he knows he’s got to prove himself and he welcomes that chance.”
Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers, as well as Lamar’s former Clippers trainers and teammates, all agree that this would be the best route for him to take to work his way back to the NBA.
“Lamar’s happy with this transition and is going to take full advantage of it,” the source says. “Basketball is basketball and there are great players all over the world, and Lamar’s playing with some of them in Spain. He’s looking forward to getting on the court and making a full comeback.”
Good for him!
Lamar Odom: Why No NBA Team Wants Him
After everything Lamar has been through, we’re so happy that he’s found a way to continue doing what he loves — even if it means joining a team overseas.
Of course it’s not ideal, but sadly, Lamar had no luck signing with an NBA team because of his alleged drug problems and DUI charge.
“No NBA team needed him or trusted him with his past issues,” a source close to the situation EXCLUSIVELY revealed to HollywoodLife.com. “This will only help his future. If he does well he might be given another chance next year.”
We hope so! What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think it was a good idea for Lamar to sign with a Spanish team? Let us know.
