Clover Canyon displayed an Ireland inspired look for their Fall 2014 show in NYC on Feb. 12. From makeup to hair to nails, everything looked absolutely amazing — super easy to wear out in the real world. Get the details on the exact look below!
We were obsessed with the Clover Canyon presentation for New York Fashion Week on Feb. 12. The makeup was done by Kevyn Aucoin, the hair done by Redken, and the nails done by Morgan Taylor — all inspired by an Irish gal running through a meadow. We spoke with all of the artists backstage — get the looks for yourself right here!
Clover Canyon Runway — Gorgeous Makeup By Kevyn Aucoin
Deanna tells us her inspiration: “The look here is based on a girl running around in a meadow in Ireland. She basically fell in the meadow and the green got into her eyes and had a little bit of that red on her cheeks from running around.”
To get the beautiful, golden and green eye look, Deanna mixed the green shade from the Essential Eyeshadow Palette #4 with the Loose Shimmer Shadow in Citrine, which is a gold shimmery color. She applied it from the lash line up to the crease. She then finished off the eyes with the Curling Mascara.
For the fresh, rosy cheeks, Deanna used the Creamy Glow in Patrice mixed with the Creamy Glow Duo Nuelle/Bloodroses onto the middle of the cheeks then down. She also dabbed the Celestial Powder in Candlelight over the cheeks, nose, and forehead to highlight the face.
Deanna said the skin was “very dewy and fresh like [you’re] running for your life in Ireland.”
Beautiful, Braided Hair By Redken
This hair looked absolutely amazing — it was done by Linh Nguyen for Cutler Salons.
Linh told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the hair was “inspired by a young, Irish lassie — all things Irish — you think of braids.”
This look may look difficult, but it’s super easy! We have the professional tips to achieve this EASY hairstyle.
First, he braided hair down like a regular three-stranded braid on the lower back of the head.
Linh said: “Then grab a clear elastic on the bottom to secure it in place and simply roll it up and tuck it in the bottom. Then pull it apart a little to give it a young, new, fresh look!”
PRO TIP while braiding your hair in the back: “make sure to have all of your products laid out in front of you and just a little coordination, go left, right, left, right.”
Green Nails By Morgan Taylor
Of course, the Morgan Taylor nails had to follow the Irish theme with a green mani!
Gina Edwards EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com about the nail look for Clover Canyon — “inspired by the fields of Ireland, a young girl running through the field. On the nails, she wanted the perfect green color that was in her collection. We mixed three colors and decided to call it Clover Green. It’s not a mint green or a forest green, it’s in the middle.”
PRO TIP from Gina for avoiding nail chips: “I always tell people to wait 24 hours before doing anything harsh on your nails. You always want to give the product some time to settle in, at least up to 24 hours. And make sure to put on a base coat and apply it in thin layers, not thick layers. It’s not bad to change up your nails all the time if you replenish your nails, moisturize your hands and use cuticle oil — let it enjoy the hydration before putting another nail polish on.”
