The former ‘SNL’ co-stars will soon be making beautiful music together once again.
Seth Meyers may have left Saturday Night Live behind him, in order to begin his next chapter as the new host of Late Night, but he’s bringing a little piece of his old gig with him! SNL vet Fred Armisen has been tapped to be Seth’s bandleader, news which the host excitedly shared with his 2.2 million+ Twitter followers.
“Here’s the first photo of the new @LateNightSeth band!” Seth tweeted Feb. 10, along with the above photo of Fred and his band.

And it looks like Fred will be in good company! Drummer Kim Thompson is part of Beyoncé‘s touring band; keyboardist Eli Janney hails from the D.C.-based indie rock group Girls Against Boys; and both guitarist Seth Jabour and bassist Syd Butler are part of the New York-based indie rock group Les Savy Fav.
And don’t worry about Fred’s busy schedule — in addition to leading the band, he also stars on IFC’s Portlandia — because Seth sure isn’t!
Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he’s off shooting Portlandia. #8GBand
