Neon pink, metallics, and patchwork fur– oh my! Custo Barcelona did not slack when it came to his Fall 2014 collection — and we have all the inside scoop for you below.
The designer is known for always pushing the boundaries and he added another successful show to his roster with his Fall 2014 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Feb. 9. Custo Barcelona debuted a daring but very fall-appropriate collection that we think would look great on edgy young Hollywood stars like Demi Lovato and Kylie Jenner, as they are both known for their funky chic style.
Custo Barcelona’s Fall 2014 Collection:
The show opened and closed with neon pink-trimmed garments. While normally it’s a color rarely seen on the winter runways, pink is having a major moment this season — and we especially loved how Custo was able to incorporate such a vibrant color into his fall collection. Besides the neon hue, the rest of the collection stayed true to a more neutral palette, making for lots of ready-to-wear pieces. Even the metallics did not scream “only New Year Eve wearable” — you can rock them throughout the season!
My favorite parts of the show was the designer’s use of patchwork — a trend we haven’t seen much of since the ’90s. From multi-colored vests to two-toned coats and jackets, the designer took patchwork from arts and crafts to the runway!
