The designer sent a sophisticated and chic collection down the runway that was infused with Christian’s signature flair for glamour — and we can’t wait to see Hollywood rock the Fifties silhouettes on the red carpet.
When it comes to crafting feminine silhouettes and formalwear, Christian is a pro — but there was way more than that in the designer’s Fall 2014 collection! Inspired by Parisian photographer Fernand Fonssagrives and his wife, model Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, who served as the designer’s muse this season, Christian Siriano’s collection paid homage to the female figure. The designer showed his Fall 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week on Feb. 8, and the front row was just as exciting as the runway with a slew of stars turning out to support Christian!
Christian Siriano’s Fall 2014 Collection:
A modern take on Fifties silhouettes came down the runway, getting an update thanks to luxe fabrics and mixing textures — a trend that’s so strong for Fall 2014. I loved the silhouettes because they looked so flattering for the female form and they were insanely wearable. His less formal separates, (or his daytime looks), consisted of graphic prints while for the evening it was all about the gorgeous gowns — there’s no denying the fact that Christian is a pro at dreaming up feminine frocks. The majority of the color palate consisted of dark grey tones as sage green, plum, silver, and gold were also infused throughout the collection. Christian’s Fall 2014 line gave off the vibe of a strong, sophisticated woman as it was perfectly polished — right down to every detail!
The vintage-inspired looks were finished off with accessories that really defined the vibe of the show. From boxy handbags to wide-brimmed, dramatic hats, the models slowly strolled down the runway with both an air of elegance and confidence. The beauty consisted of thick cat eyes and pinkish/nude lips.
So far for Fall 2014, we’re seeing many outerwear trends turn up in practically every show — and they were present in Christian’s collection as well! Both capes and oversized coats are going to have a major moment next season, and Christian’s take on the trend was beautiful. In fact, one of my favorite looks from the designer’s collection was a green cape.
Christian has always had a bevy of celebrity fans, and after seeing his latest collection it’s only a matter of time before we’re seeing his looks move from the runway to the red carpet. A strapless white dress was perfect for Sarah Hyland, while Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev would look amazing in the embellished dresses.
