Bold reds and feminine lace took over the runway and we watched in awe of this fabulous Fall 2014 collection — it’s only a matter of time before it rocks the red carpet!
The Lincoln Center Salon was lucky to have such delicately constructed evening gowns glide down the runway for Tadashi Shoji‘s Fall 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week in NYC on Feb. 6. We sat in on the show and had the perfect view of the colors, details and dazzling embellishments — oh my! When it comes to making a grand entrance, there’s no better way to do so than in a gorgeous Tadashi gown.
Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 Collection:
The fall collection was inspired by an evening reverie with tales of enchantment behind every corner in a “moonlit Moorish Palace.” Pretty romantic words from Tadashi! This theme was definitely consistent with the collection, as the designer captured ornate details and utilized luxurious textiles, which created a very mysterious and romantic tone. The exquisite dresses were covered in beautiful lace, breathtaking velvet, and shimmering beading. Velvet, which was popular on the runway last winter, will still be in style come Fall 2014.
Bright colors, such as purples and reds, were used to symbolize “intricate tilework.” The black dresses were filled with glitzy jewels to represent stars as “glittering road maps to the desert sky.” We also spotted a new, hot fall trend make it’s way on to the runway! Fashionable capes were draped behind many of his gorgeous dresses — and we also saw the silhouette earlier in the day at BCBG. We love how the cape is the perfect accessory to keep warm when the fall weather is perfectly mild — even if you’re rocking a gorgeous gown!
Celebrities Have Tadashi Fever!
After taking in the latest from the designer, we can picture so many celebs sporting Tadashi’s fabulous frocks. Octavia Spencer, who credits Tadashi as her go-to for red carpet occasions, would look lovely in the vibrant shades and feminine silhouettes. We could also see Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery stun in an embellished black halter gown — and that’s not all! We’re sure the line will be worn all over the red carpet.
I had my little eye on someone in the front row of Tadashi’s Fall show! From Alyssa Milano to Katrina Bowden and finally, Miss J from America’s Next Top Model, the stars came out in full force to check out the collection.
See it here and let us know what you think of the line!
