CBS is working on yet another spinoff for its immensely successful show ‘NCIS.’ This time around, the show is going to be set in New Orleans, and it has now found its leading man in Scott Bakula!
Scott Bakula is set to take on the role of Agent Pride in the New Orleans NCIS backdoor pilot episode, which is set to air during a two-part NCIS installment this spring. Scott, who is best known for his Golden Globe award-winning roles in Quantum Leap and Star Trek: Enterprise, will headline the NCIS: New Orleans spin-off.
Scott Bakula Set To Star On ‘NCIS: New Orleans’
The New Orleans backdoor pilot episode could potentially result in a full-series spinoff revolving around the famous southern city. According to Entertainment Weekly, “The NCIS: New Orleans office handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle. New Orleans with its rich setting of music, fun and debauchery is a magnet for military personnel on-leave. And with fun comes trouble. It is a natural backdrop for a unique character driven spin-off.” The spinoff pilot will air as part of a two-part NCIS episode this spring.
Scott Bakula Wins Leading Role On ‘NCIS’ New Orleans
Of course, this is not the first time that the series has expanded. NCIS: Los Angeles is currently in its fifth season, and it had an arc episode/backdoor pilot just like New Orleans will have prior to its own series. Hopefully NCIS will find a permanent home in New Orleans, and we’ll have yet another spinoff to enjoy!
