When you have a serious mystery on your hands like ‘how many apples are sitting in front of me on this table?’ you can’t rely on folks like The Count to help you. Thankfully, ‘Sesame Street’ knew this when they enlisted the help of Sherlock himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, to solve the puzzle.

Well this is certainly the most adorable thing we’ve seen all day. Check out Benedict Cumberbatch — who is not, in fact, actually Sherlock Holmes — in his big Sesame Street debut below!

Turns out even Sesame Street characters are obsessed with the British hit series Sherlock. The show’s star dropped by the Street on Feb. 4 to film an adorable segment with the dastardly Murray-arty, Moriarty’s Muppet alter ego, but he needed a little help when Murray-arty gave him a Sherlock-esque mystery to solve. (No, the help did not come from his co-star Martin Freeman, unfortunately.)

Instead, the Count was enlisted to help Benedict count apples and oranges, because we all know that actors can’t do math. Check out the oh-so-perfect video, and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
