Hallmark Channel deserves a round of a-claws for pulling off this im-paws-ible feat! Did you enjoy the Kitten Bowl as much as we did?
Get I get an a-meow?! The year’s most important cat-related sporting event, the Kitten Bowl, was held Feb. 2, and it was nothing short of a-meow-zing! In other news, that will be my final cat pun of this article, I promise.
What I can’t promise, however, is that I won’t highlight all the incredible cat puns delivered by the game, itself! With players named Tomcat Brady and Ferrell Owens, the three-hour event was a veritable smörgåsbord of verbal delight — not to mention visual cuteness.
Kitten Bowl 2014: Locker Room Speeches & More Best Moments
While there was some football involved (I think), the first-ever Kitten Bowl also focused on events that cats can actually do, including obstacle courses with lasers, hoops and hurdles.
The locker room videos and mid-game “interviews” were a nice touch, making it easy for people like me — who know nothing about football, and even less about cats — to understand what was happening. Beth Stern also did a wonderful job of hosting the inaugural bowl, and Jon Sterling‘s emceeing was second to none.
My colleague Shaunna Murphy did a phenomenal job of previewing the big game for HollywoodLife.com readers last week, but nothing could prepare me for the fur-ocious football frenzy in store for me today. (Sorry, I know I promised no more cat puns!)
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Hallmark Channel’s first-ever Kitten Bowl? Do you think they should bring it back for another round next year? Did you think it was better than the Puppy Bowl? There’s a lot to discuss here, so drop a comment with your full review of the day’s festivities!
