The biggest name in radio actually hit the big 6-0 on Jan. 12, but he waited until Super Bowl Weekend to celebrate in style. And that’s exactly what he did on Jan. 31, with stars like John Stamos and Lena Dunham in attendance and performances by John Mayer, Maroon 5, and many more.
Howard Stern‘s a smart dude. His 60th birthday was on Jan. 12, but he played it cool. Instead of throwing a party that night, he waited until Jan. 31, the Friday before Super Bowl XLVIII, to have his birthday bash — which means that tons of big names and performers would be in New York City. And the party turned out to be one of the highlights of Super Bowl Weekend!
Howard Stern’s Blowout 60th Birthday Party
Stars from all corners of the entertainment world came out to honor Howard, the self-proclaimed King of All Media. Jimmy Kimmel came out to host the bash, and was joined by comedians Joan Rivers and Jeffrey Ross. The two comedians put on an impromptu roast of Howard — making jokes we’re sure are unrepeatable.
The party also featured appearances by Tracy Morgan, Larry King, Kathy Griffin, Governor Chris Christie (huh?), Louis C.K., Jenny McCarthy, Bryan Cranston, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Lena Dunham, David Letterman, John Stamos, and Zach Braff.
And a few stars who couldn’t make the party — Paul McCartney, The Beach Boys, George Clooney, and more — recorded funny, heartfelt birthday messages that were played throughout the night.
But the party wasn’t just a bunch of celebrities glad-handing non-stop — it was also a night for music. Starting off with a performance by the Black Keys, the party’s entertainment was provided by John Mayer, Maroon 5, Jon Bon Jovi, and the Foo Fighters.
So if we learned anything from Howard’s huge 60th birthday bash, it’s that you should always schedule your parties around Super Bowl Weekend, and also, there ain’t no party like a Howard Stern party.
