Harry — say it’s not so. Don’t even think about breaking up the most successful British boy band since The Beatles! Don’t you agree, HollywoodLifers?
Harry Styles — the rumor mill has been going wild with speculation that you are planning to split from your One Direction bandmates, and strike out on a solo career. At HollywoodLife.com, we sure hope this isn’t true!
Is Harry Styles Going Solo? — Why He Shouldn’t Leave 1D
Harry — there are just so many reasons why it’s better for you to stay true to One Direction. First and foremost, why break up the band when it’s at the height of its popularity and success? It’s not like you, Niall, Louis, Zayn, and Liam have even been together for all that long.
One Direction only came into being after you competed in the British X Factor and Simon Cowell had the genius idea of putting you all together into a group, instead of having you perform individually. It was only after you came in third place on the show, that you actually launched your careers together and recorded the phenomenal first hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” From there, it’s only been up, up, up.
Nothing that you and One Direction have done has been anything less that a humungous success — your albums, videos, world tours, and hit singles, including the most recent, “Story of My Life.” You, as part of One Direction, may not have even reached the pinnacle of what you can do together, creatively and commercially. So why walk away from that?
Now here’s a second reason to stay together — you all still like each other and get along. It’s not like there has been in-fighting between you guys. Instead, you’ve been remarkably well-matched, and have appeared in hundreds of interviews to be having the time of your lives together. There’s never been a hint of internal feuding between any of you, so why leave relationships that are working well?
Harry Styles — Going Solo Doesn’t Guarantee Success
The third reason why you shouldn’t consider splitting from One Direction : going solo is no guarantee of future success. For every Justin Timberlake, who left his boy band ‘N Sync, there are far more examples of former band members who never enjoyed nearly the same success with solo careers. The perfect example is The Beatles. No matter how talented Paul McCartney and John Lennon were individually, neither of them had the same stratospheric career after they broke up The Beatles. More recently, the Backstreet Boys just got back together after none of the band members was able to make it on their own.
Harry, there’s something magical about how One Direction has come together so perfectly. There’s just no other way to describe it.You know as well as we do that failure is a far more common outcome for both bands and individuals trying to make it in the music world.
So for all of these reasons, even if you are the frontman for One Direction — and even though I’m sure you’re fielding multiple offers to do solo musical projects — try hard to stay grounded. You’re so young at 19, you’re doing fantastically well right now, and therefore, there’s no excellent reason to take a chance and leave a special situation in your life that you may never be able to recreate.
A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the solo rumors are wrong, revealing that , “the relationships of the boys will not break up the band. One Direction as a band is as strong as ever.” We really hope that that is the absolute case.
HollywoodLifers, tell us what you think. Should Harry step out solo or stay with One Direction?
