Robert Pattinson Goes Shirtless & Serious In ‘Rover’ Trailer — Watch

Wed, January 29, 2014 1:07pm EDT by 511 Comments

‘The Rover’ trailer is finally here! On Jan. 29, director David Michod definitely transformed Robert Pattinson into sexy vamp to serious bad boy — watch the new trailer here!

Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce are about to blow up the big screen! The official trailer for The Rover is officially out, and we can see loud and clear that Rob has come a long way since his days as Edward Cullen. We can’t wait to see the new movie, coming out in summer 2014.

‘The Rover’ Full Trailer

In the trailer, we see Rob looking sexier than ever playing a bad boy. We can definitely see why director David Michod was positive Rob was right for the role.

“I knew that I wanted to see him,” David told the Sydney Morning Herald. “And we looked at quite a few people and a number of, you know, quite big names, and sure enough Rob came in and just straight away was my favorite.”

In the trailer, Guy is telling his story of a dangerous, lonely journey through the Australian desert. Rob is shown shirtless, bloody and ready to fight.

Rob’s Risky ‘Rover’ Role

According to the film’s website, Rob plays Rey, who was a gang member! It’s definitely a far stretch from the vampire role he’s known for, but it’s not a surprise since he’s been working hard to get out of that light.

Here’s the full synopsis:

The Australian desert in a dangerous and damaged near future. Eric (Guy Pearce) has left everything, everyone and every semblance of human kindness behind him. And then he has his last possession stolen by a gang of dangerous criminals. Eric sets off on a ruthless mission to track them down, forced along the way to enlist the help of Rey (Robert Pattinson), the naïve and injured junior member of the gang, who was left behind in the bloody chaos of the gang’s most recent robbery.

Are you excited for the new movie? Let us know!

PLATONIC Pattinson

Posted at 7:31 PM on March 7, 2014

He still remains a coward, who is afraid to go to market with his work . He is almost thirty . I read Robert ‘s maybe, maybe , maybe …………
He is constantly hiding behind his PR team , I have to laugh at him .
pr tirelessly for patts:
what is the sweetest in the world? PRrpfangir: Róbert
what is the most perfect and world? PRrpfangirl: Róbert
who works the most respected actors? PRrpfangirl: Róbert
who works the most respected directors? PRrpfangirl: Róbert
who is one of the best? FIRST BEFORE GOD? PRrpfangirl: Róbert
I forgot something? yes :
-he is the most perfect future pianist
-he is the most future-guitarist
-he is the most future-songwriter
-he is the most perfect future writer
-he is the most perfect future director
Pattinson’s team is really over the corpses for vulgar comments on Stewart. Arrogant and discourteous behavior is only seen in patts and his team, which is all over the website, It is now clear, who is playing the Hollywood game and it’s not Kriste Stewart.

Kristen is fine.

Posted at 7:31 PM on March 7, 2014

Kristen is still work
Soul artist Kriste Stewart, so rare in today’s world.
Kristen is a lovely girl, so sweet, she loves playing guitar. Music is her natural element, as well as movie and poetry and art in general.
Her poetry is amazing, according to people and others, who understood her.
A lot of artists picking up the verses in their texts-quality songs.
She is an incredibly talented young woman.
She has great energy in itself. And to add to her incredible talent .
This week, it was revealed the Stewart is making her directorial debut. Kristen has moved behind the camera to take the lead on the music video for the country band Sage + Saints.
When Kristen Stewart puts her mind to something, you can bet she’s going to pour everything she has into it.
Stewart is completely captivating as she gets caught up in the beauty of things.
Video with Kristen for MC is gorgeous . I am thrilled with how she is doing anything. Movies , fashion , advertising for the perfume. I love this girl and everything about her.
The Camp X-Ray actress recently revealed her off-screen creative side to Marie Claire by allowing them to publish one of her poems, but it appears that her interests don’t stop there. When she wasn’t busy starring in critically-acclaimed Sundance films, composing literary gems, and being the new face of Chanel — Stewart apparently decided to try her hand behind the camera. Good for you, K Stew.

Rob looks so good in The Rover, and it just shows he’s in charge of his life and his career. He’s making such smart decisions, and it’s obvious that the heavy hitters are jumping to work with him.

Ben Kingsley, Nicole Kidman, Guy Pearce — the fact that major talents are co starring in these movies with Rob says a lot about the quality of the projects he’s chosen.

And Cronenberg, Herzog, Michod, Corbijn — these kinds of directors are the most respected in the business. They have their choice of the best actors in the world, everyone wants to work with them and they are choosing to work with Rob. That speaks for his talent.

Life goes on

Life Takes a New Look at James Dean

In 1955, LIFE magazine photographer Dennis Stock hit the road with James Dean–culminating in the iconic shot of the actor brooding in Times Square. That real-life road trip is the subject of Anton Corbijin’s drama Life (now filming in Ontagrio), starring Robert Pattinson as Stock and Dane DeHaan as the troubled star.

“When I see Rob, I see an inner turmoil that is great for the role,” says the Dutch director (The American). “And Dane is really interesting. He has a beautiful face, but it’s a hard face to grasp. It’s hard to see how Dane reads [on screen] sometimes, and the same goes for James Dean.”

FYI, I don’t respond back to the rude comments you leave about this post, anymore. Knock yourselves out – the majority of you in here are beyond reasoning with, I get that. I keep this posted for three reasons:

1) to poke at you so that you’ll STOP being so damn mean; 2) for new people coming through here who may be looking for an explanation about why so many of you are still so obsessed after all this time; and 3) I have a really good idea to create tabloid & papz changes IF fans can manage to unite – which I realize is highly unlikely. The first two reasons are enough; the third one would just be a gargantuan BONUS for ALL of us except for the rags, ha!

If Hollywood Life (and tabloids in general) article comments were a playground – we wouldn’t get away with acting like this. What is the message here?

When you are a child, adults teach you how to behave and you learn about things like Freedom of Speech and what that means. BUT, when you get old enough – none of it matters, anymore. You can say any damn thing you want to because you are FREE to do so!

Absolutely NONE of you are actually this ugly (or heartbroken) inside after ALL THIS TIME. And if you actually ARE and you continue to defend your RIGHT to be this stupidly-obsessed, I will continue to exercise my right to point out your stupidity. OBSESSIVELY. ;)

WHY are ‘fans’ still so CRUEL to each other in here after all this time? After a year and a half of watching Kristen and Robert being ripped to shreds at the expense of their heartbroken YOUNG and young-at-heart Twilight fans; I’m not going away after this past New Year’s Eve hoax and continuing hate.

LOOK at these most recent headlines!!! WHY the hell should I go away?! NO ONE gets paid this much money to go under these CONSTANT personal attacks like they do – and their emotionally-invested FANS do not deserve to be lied to so often JUST so that the tabloids can make sure they STAY crazy for MONEY!!

STEPHENIE MEYER – YOU DID THIS!! As your most recently enraged & engaged Twilight MOVIE Fan, you can COUNT on me keeping your involvement and NON-involvement of this LONG Hollywood SMEAR campaign in perspective. Your stupid ‘saga’ should never have been made into movies, much less published like that – and this is why:

We are now finally able to answer the TIRED, over-asked question, “What’s wrong with Twilight obsessions”? This kind of EXTENDED, lying tabloid behavior is NOT normal; nor does it have anything to do with ‘Freedom of Speech’ – it’s because your OVERLY-OBSESSED ‘fans’ AND ‘anti-fans’ are STILL fighting with each other (which makes MONEY for the tabloids) because of your seriously-debunked literary failure that ACCIDENTALLY caused them all this pain & chaos!!!

This scandal was NOT a ‘staged stunt’ and Kristen didn’t get caught ‘cheating’ – she got caught fending off her predatory boss, which is a really good reason to reunite with someone so soon afterwards. Rob & Kris started the ‘rumors’ THEMSELVES in May about them ‘taking a break for now’ because they either need a break from the papz & tabloids (which obviously isn’t working) OR they really need a break from their relationship. There is NO WAY to tell at this point. (I HAVE all the links that prove this perspective.)

SEARCH explaintwilightbreakingdawnending on blogspot for information about what’s wrong with The Twilight Saga and WHY it has been so HARMFULLY addictive for OLDER fans, especially; and the TRUTH about ‘robsten’ – SIGN the petition for Hollywood to reform its own Industry of Celebrity Mistreatment – or brainstorm to figure out something else that WILL WORK.

She trashed herself

Posted at 6:42 PM on March 6, 2014

Only when it’s self-serving does she sell her private life. If she was labeled a liar and a cheat in the media, and she was innocent, of course she would set the record straight.

Instead, she issued an over the top apology, aimed at Rob because he wasnt’ taking her phone calls.

It wasn’t staged, photoshopped or anything else. She cheated with Rupert, she went home and lied to Rob about it for at least a week, and then she got caught when the pics came out.

KStew Knows it's All Over

Posted at 4:48 PM on February 15, 2014

Kristen knows it’s all over. You’ll never see Rob with her again, he is over and done with her. And you know the proof that he dumped her last May? Her behavior.

It’s interesting that for 10 months (between when she got caught with Rupert and when Rob drove off with the dogs in May), she handled the paps by ignoring them.

But as soon as the break up happened, she reverted to her true self and went back to bird flipping and screaming obscenities. That alone said to me that she knew the split was permanent. She gave up trying to be nice, she knew Rob was done.

She’s still bird flipping and screaming obscenities, which means she knows he has no interest in getting back with her. She tries to be the nice girl when he’s with her, and when he’s done with her, she reverts to her real self.

This is one conspiracy theory some of you are having a hard time getting past: Summit DID NOT insist that Robert reunite with Kristen for Twilight: BDp2 – if they HAD, they would have done a MUCH better job at timing their reunion better to integrate with their Twilight marketing efforts. WHO has made money off of this scandal ALL THIS TIME?!! If you think they looked too uncomfortable with each other during the LA premiere; it’s probably because they were pretty nervous about facing their fans for the first time together since the scandal – knowing how divided their fanbase was.

I mean, he TOOK HER BACK HOME for the New Year last year AGAIN for the THIRD year in a row. (2013, and that was the 2nd time he had taken her back home since the ‘cheating’ scandal – the first being around the US’s Thanksgiving Holiday of that same year.) You DO NOT take someone who has hurt your family back home and/or bring them back into your inner-friend circle if you’re not SERIOUSLY trying to make things work with them. If it was a publicity stunt, Robert didn’t have to take things that far – he could have just ‘been seen’ with Kristen during that time and went home without her.

We don’t have to agree in order for us ALL to be mad at what the tabloids do to both Kris & Rob. You know that articles like this are not aimed at either of them – it’s targeted at their emotionally invested fans who love them, because just causing them individual pain wouldn’t make anyone any money. What the tabloids do is out in the open for everyone to see – LIE after LIE after LIE while they continue to make money off of the tears or fury of dedicated fans.

PLEASE put down all your cleverly-composed, hateful weapons and do something helpful toward improving the situation for everyone. None of this has anything to do with Freedom of Speech – it is abuse of Freedom of Speech.

We need to unite – REGARDLESS of your own tabloid-manipulated opinion or who you love ‘more’. Hollywood’s tabloids & papz have always done their jobs extremely well where Kristen and Robert are concerned – and Twilight-haters, Kristen-haters, Robert-haters and ‘staged stunt theorists’ ALL help the tabloids do their job almost EFFORTLESSLY.

It’s the Internet Age that has changed things. Tabloids could be mean and even lie when they only came out in print – but not this often or so incessantly. They need to know that it is unacceptable to us fans that they treat ALL of our favorite celebrity kings & queens this way.

The petition does not call for changing any US laws, nor does it mess with ‘Freedom of Speech’. For that reason, anyone of any age or location around the world can sign it – it’s for all celebrities and it’s WORTH a TRY. Ignore my mean words on my blog that are only meant to prod mean people. If you LOVE The Twilight Saga, or Kristen Stewart, or Robert Pattinson – or all three (OMG, is there such a fan?!!) – the mean stuff isn’t meant for you and it will ALL go away as soon as it is no longer needed.

SEARCH explaintwilightbreakingdawnending on blogspot for the TRUTH about robsten and info on Hollywood’s misogynistic smear campaign. Sign the petition for Hollywood to reform its own Industry of Celebrity Mistreatment – or brainstorm to figure out something else that WILL WORK.

Worth Watching

Posted at 6:52 PM on February 5, 2014

Praise from GeekTyrant:

This is an intense-looking teaser trailer for a post-apocalyptic thriller called The Rover. The movie was written and directed by David Michôd, and it stars Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson.

The film will be released sometime in the summer of 2014, and it looks like a movie that will be worth watching.

Most Anticipated

Posted at 6:51 PM on February 5, 2014

Praise from WeAreMovieGeeks: The slow-burn thriller stars Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson and is set in the Australian desert in a dangerous and damaged near future. The film was written by Michôd and based on a story conceived by Michôd and Joel Edgerton.

From what we’ve seen of this first teaser, it’s no wonder the film is one of most anticipated films of 2014.

Rob is choosing to work with such smart and talented people. Love his decisions!

Animal Kingdom’s brilliance means that The Rover is easily the film I’m looking forward to the most this year, and its absence from various high-profile “Ones To Watch In 2014″ lists is baffling to say the least. Guy Pearce! Robert Pattinson! Er, Scoot McNairy!

What’s not to be stoked about?

It’s called “camera angle.” There’s nothing wrong with him, he looks great. And his weight hasn’t changed, it’s the lens and angle of the camera.

The pic of him in Morocco just days before was fantastic. He hasn’t changed in 3 days, the only thing that changed is the camera and the bad photographer.

He will look stunning in LIFE, his haircut couldn’t be better.

What’s up with Rob already back in Toronto? He wasn’t on set except for six days. Franco wasn’t on set except for 7 days. His Hernoz just having them do cameos? Anyone know what is going on?

Rob arrived in Morocco on Jan. 24th. So he was there for total of 8 days, which is about the same amount of time James Franco worked on the movie. A cameo is 3 days, not 8.

The film is called QUEEN of the Desert for a reason. It’s a starring vehicle for Nicole Kidman. Everyone else is a supporting part.

And it’s really smart of Rob to do these ensemble parts, it’s a good way for him to show his range, and work with a variety of master directors without having the pressure of carrying the movie. He’s already proved he can do that, with billion dollar results.

Looks Fantastic

Praise from Up And Comers:

Guy Pearce drags Robert Pattinson on the road trip from hell in the first teaser trailer for David Michod’s highly anticipated “Animal Kingdom” follow-up, “The Rover.” It’s just a teaser, mostly montages of starkly beautiful but disturbing imagery narrated by Pearce, but it looks fantastic.

Rob is a winner

Posted at 2:33 PM on February 4, 2014

Praise from the Huffington Post:

Robert Pattinson spent 2013 away from the spotlight, but he’s back with an art-house-y vengeance in 2014 thanks to a pair of films: David Cronenberg’s “Map to the Stars” and David Michôd’s “The Rover.” That latter feature, a post-apocalyptic thriller set for release this summer via A24, stars Pattinson as a gang member who gets left behind after a robbery.

Michôd, who directed the acclaimed film “Animal Kingdom,” shot “The Rover” in his native Australia, and the first trailer is filled with the kind of beautiful and stark imagery that would be at home in “The Road Warrior.” This one looks great.
