President Obama — you’ve got much more pressing things to do than to revoke Justin Bieber’s American visa, even though 136,000 people have signed a petition asking you to send him back to his native Canada. Do you agree, HollywoodLifers?
President Obama — it’s quite clear after listening to the State of the Union address last night, Jan. 28, that you’ve got a lot better things to do with your time than to waste it ordering Justin Bieber to be deported.
Justin Bieber Deportation Petition — Should Obama Deport The Biebs?
Nevertheless, you apparently will have to review a petition on The White House’s We The People site, which has garnered more than 136,000 signatures from people who are begging to have Justin Bieber deported.
The petition reads:
We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.
With all that’s going on in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and with negotiations underway to stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb, we really think you have far greater threats to American security to be concerned with, than Justin Bieber.
We also think that if the 136,000 people who signed this petition can’t spell properly and use proper grammar, then they can hardly complain about the Biebs’ “destructive” effect on American pop culture!
President Obama — You Have Better Things To Do Than Deport Justin Bieber
While we don’t condone any of Justin’s bad behavior — from swearing at police officers to admitting that he was high on pot while driving — these alleged crimes don’t legally meet the threshold of deportable behavior, according to multiple immigration attorneys that we’ve consulted at HollywoodLife.com.
Legally, Justin can only be deported for a crime involving moral turpitude, and this is typically “a crime that shocks the conscience of a state, local or federal prosecutor,” according to immigration attorney Michael Wildes. DUIs, and even resisting arrest and egg throwing, are not considered crimes of moral turpitude.
President Obama, with all the work you have to do with Congress, from raising the minimum wage to reforming immigration laws, it doesn’t seem to be a good use of your time to interfere with Justin’s immigration status and order his deportation.
That also doesn’t seem very hospitable, when you invited Justin to The White House to perform during the Easter Egg Roll in April, 2010. Sasha and Malia Obama would never forgive you if you deported Justin!
Furthermore, you don’t even have a reason to feel personally offended by Justin. After all, when he peed in a mop bucket, it was underneath a photo of President Bill Clinton, and it was Bill Clinton that he swore at, saying, “F*** Bill Clinton” — not you. President Clinton graciously forgave Justin for this disrespect, and if he wasn’t pissed off at him, then surely you can hold back from deporting the Biebs.
Now HollywoodLifers, do you think President Obama should intervene and deport Justin Bieber? Let me know.
