The longtime Superstar is reportedly furious that the spotlight has moved to Batista, who just returned after a lengthy hiatus.
There’s some serious drama brewing in the WWE — and this time, it’s happening outside of the ring! CM Punk has decided to quit the international organization, TMZ Sports is reporting, after finding out who he’s set to wrestle at WrestleMania XXX in April.
Apparently going head-to-head with Triple H isn’t quite how Mr. Punk envisioned his WrestleMania experience; he believes he should have been included in the title match, a spot that was given to recent returner Batista. Per TMZ Sports, CM Punk doesn’t think Batista is in proper fighting shape and doesn’t deserve to be in arguably the biggest match of the year.
CM Punk’s contract is up in July, and sources tell the site that he has no interest in returning to the WWE.
Batista Dominates At WWE Royal Rumble 2014
This isn’t the first time Batista has found himself in headlines this week. The Superstar made a triumphant return to the WWE this month, culminating in a huge victory at Royal Rumble.
Batista absolutely dominated the Jan. 28 Pay-Per-View event, winning the unfathomable 30-Superstar Royal Rumble Match — much to the disappointment of WWE fans across the country.
HollywoodLifers, will you be disappointed if CM Punk ends up quitting the WWE? Do you agree that Batista is being unfairly supported by the organization? Drop a comment with your thoughts on this major shakeup below.
