Cheerios revealed its first Super Bowl commercial in eight years — just in time for Super Bowl XLVIII! — and it seems like the marketing team was saving up all of their adorableness to share during this game. The beautiful multiracial family that sparked a discussion about the diversity of American families is back for a new heart-warming ad: and now they’re having a baby!

Cheerios Super Bowl Commercial: Gracie’s Getting A Baby Brother & Puppy

Gracie’s dad explains to her that their family is growing because her mom is pregnant with a baby boy! He even spells it out for her by using the Cheerios.

Gracie reacts well to the news, but then suppresses a sly smile and bargains that she wants a puppy in addition to her baby brother. Her dad can’t argue with those negotiation skills!

Cheerios Speaks Out About Super Bowl Ad Inspiration

The multiracial couple and the little girl, Gracie, were targets of racist comments when their first Cheerios ad hit the Internet, but most consumers actually loved their ad and identified with the adorable family!

“Cheerios is about families and love and connections and breakfast,” Camille Gibson, Vice President of marketing for Big G cereals, said on the General Mills corporate blog. “Our new Cheerios ad celebrates one of those special moments in a family that America fell in love with. The ad quietly celebrates the emotional sharing and simple joys we find when spending just a few simple moments together every day.”

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Gracie’s reaction is funny?
