It must have killed Selena to hear that Justin had been pulled over and arrested in Miami on Jan. 23, but what might’ve hurt even more is that a sexy model was riding shotgun when it happened. However, Selena’s BFF said in a new interview that she’s taking the news in stride and trying not to let it bother her.
Besides being worried about Justin Bieber after he was pulled over and arrested for DUI and drag racing on Jan. 23, Selena Gomez also had to stomach the fact that he was — and still is — with another girl, model Chantel Jeffries. So how is she handling it? Her best friend Demi Lovato gave up some details in a new interview.
Demi Lovato: Selena Gomez Is Staying ‘Strong’
Demi revealed that after news broke about Justin’s arrest, she and Selena got together and had a serious heart-to-heart. “Any advice I had for her, we talked last night and — you know — it’s between us. But I love her so much,” Demi told On Air With Ryan Seacrest at the KIIS-FM Grammys pre-party on Jan. 24.
One detail that Demi would reveal is that Selena is staying “strong. She’s doing really well right now!”
That’s remarkable, because the combination of Justin’s arrest and his apparent fling with Chantel can’t make Selena feel good.
Selena Gomez Getting Justin Bieber Advice From Demi Lovato
But Demi has no doubt been a rock for Selena during this difficult time — not only is she extremely supportive, but her past experiences with substance abuse and addiction are very valuable.
“That is why she has been hanging out with Demi a lot lately, to get advice from her on how Justin should move forward in recovery,” a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
With Demi by her side, and with the knowledge that Justin’s closest friends and family have converged in Panama — presumably to stage an intervention — Selena should be able to hold it together so that she can support Justin, assuming he lets her instead of ignoring her in favor of Chantel.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised Selena is doing okay? Let us know.
