Over the years many stars have taken the full frontal plunge, and after seeing Alexandra Daddario‘s jaw-dropping, stunning nude scene on True Detective on Jan. 19, we decided to look back on the other ones that made our spines tingle.

First let’s remember the ones that set the bar. You can’t talk about memorable nude scenes without mentioning the holy trinity: Kate Winslet in Titanic (“I want you to draw me like one of your French girls”), Jason Biggs in American Pie (with a side of apple pie), and Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights (he used a prosthetic!). Kristen Stewart gave everyone a quick peek as the free-spirited Marylou in On the Road, Paula Patton let it all hang out in a sexy love scene with Denzel Washington in 2 Guns, and Shia LaBeouf outdid them all by going full frontal for a Sigur Ros music video. We probably should’ve taken that as a hint that he was going crazy.

Nowadays — specifically in 2014 — it seems like nude scenes have taken a turn from being indie fodder to being like behind the scenes of a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition photo shoot. We already mentioned Alexandra Daddario in True Detective — the naked curves-baring scene that led thousands of fans to propose to her on Twitter — but there’s one other girl who gave Alexandra a run for her money.
Of course we’re talking about Margot Robbie, who stole the screen and Leonardo DiCaprio‘s heart by taking it all off in The Wolf of Wall Street. Margot has quickly become a huge star, and we’re pretty sure we know why.
