Uh oh! The husband of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Phaedra Parks is in boiling hot water after surrendering to police on Jan. 24 on charges for bank fraud and identity theft.
As a star of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra Parks is no stranger to drama, but this latest scandal is likely too much for her to handle. On Jan. 24, her husband Apollo Nida was charged with bank fraud and identity theft, and he is again facing jail time.
Apollo Nida: ‘RHOA’ Husband Charged With Bank Fraud
Apollo is being charged for allegedly creating fake companies, enabling him to access databases to find individuals to rip off, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. He allegedly also opened fake bank accounts under those individuals’ real names and funneled stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into those accounts.
Apollo was reportedly implicated by a former accomplice, Gayla St. Julien, who was arrested in September 2013. Gayla allegedly told police that Apollo was the one who orchestrated the fraudulent schemes, adding that he pocketed the most money.
Apollo turned himself in to the authorities on Jan. 24.
This isn’t the first time he’s gotten in trouble either. The RHOA husband was previously imprisoned from 2004 to 2009 for breaking federal racketeering laws related to auto title fraud. He and Phaedra married after he got out of jail in 2009, and they have two children together.
‘Real Housewives’ Legal Trouble
Amazingly, Apollo is not the first Real Housewives star to recently go down for fraud. Teresa and Joe Giudice of the New Jersey version of the Bravo show are currently facing up to 50 years in jail after being charged with over 40 counts of tax fraud.
The couple allegedly obtained multiple mortgages and other loans from multiple banks by purposely overestimating their incomes. They also allegedly withheld vital information about their net worth from a U.S. bankruptcy trustee after filing for Chapter 7.
So HollywoodLifers, are you shocked that another Housewives star has been charged with fraud? Do you think Apollo and Phaedra’s marriage will be in trouble? Let us know!
