So sad. One student was shot at South Carolina State University on Jan. 24 and authorities say there are four suspects. One has been identified and police are searching for him.
Around 1:30 PM on Jan. 24, Campus police at South Carolina State University were called to the Andrew Hugine Suites Living & Learning community on the campus in Orangeburg,Cali. after reports of shots being fired.

One student at SCSU was shot by the suspect, police and the college confirmed in a press release listed on the school’s website.
At this time, the name and the condition of the student shot are not being released.
The press release states that eyewitness saw four suspects who fled campus immediately after police arrived. One suspect has been identified as Justin Bernard Singleton of Charleston, SC and is being searched for.
SCSU & Surrounding College On Lock Down
The campus remains on lockdown. The State Law Enforcement Division, Orangeburg City police as well as Orangeburg County Sheriff Department have joined the scene to search for the suspects. Clafin University, located across the street from the college, has also alerted their students.
Faculty, staff and students are urged to “take precautions” and to call campus police if any “suspicious activity” goes on.
“The students are safe,” South Carolina State University Police Chief Mernard Clarkson said during a press conference, according to WTLX.com. said at a news conference late Friday afternoon. “The perimeter of the campus has been secured.”
